Boy am I glad I started Carter instead of Gannon. He already has 3 TD's and its only 2/3 of the way through the 3rd quarter!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, that was one awesome game tonight. Raiders down 17-10, get the ball back with 1:45ish to play on their 4 yard line. Tuiasusopo makes a series of big passes and moves the ball down the field to the KC 25 with 26 seconds left. He goes 3-out and on 4-10 he throws it to the KC 15 for a 1st down with 10 sec left. he fakes a spike, throws for the endzone and misses his receiver. with 3 seconds left he throws it to the one yard line where it is caught and the receiver is thrown down before he can make any attempt at getting into the endzone. Absolute insanity.

When Green dove across that touchdown line when KC played Oakland I yelled like crazy...I was down by 8 points and I needed Green to earn me 9 for the win.
Something is wrong when you're cheering for the game as loud as you do at a regional competition. (w/o the MOEstix) |

I *really* need a decent runningback. I am willing to trade Oakland's Defense, and perhaps Rich Gannon, or Keyshawn Johnson if the offer is right. If you want someone else on my team, Im open to offers.

Mid season awards.
Best team
[i] Philly Cheesesteaks. They have taken on every comer and have knocked off the second place contender twice and are still going strong. Best QB Steve McNair (CB234) McNair has been red hot and rock steady doing it both with his arm and his legs. He may not get the hype Vick or McNAbb gets but there is no better guy at the position today. Best QBs Trent Green, Jon Kitna(Coco's Monkey) Green benefits from having so many weapons to throw too and his heady presence in the backfield. Kitna is a genuine surprise but he is blessed with a great group of young recievers. Best RB Preist Holmes (R.I. Electrons) The guy practically carried the Electrons to victory early in the season. Best RBs Ahman Green, Clinton Portis, James Mungro (Snowballs) Green and Portis are a tough pair to overcome on a weekly basis. Now if he'd quit being in denial about Pennington... Best Reciever Torry Holt (Snowballs) THe greatest show on turf has returned! Best Recievers Hines Ward, Terrell Owens, Chris Chambers (Dunedain) Man that is a scary looking set (Thank me. You're welcome for Chambers. ARRRGH!) Best Kicker Jason Elam (Snowballs) Old relaible. Best defense Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Keith Bullock, Chris Clairborne, Lance Shculters, Dat Nguyen, Derek Smith, Willie Whitehead(Valleygirls). The Chiefs defense has been as mucha plesant surprise as much as the Eagles defense has been a dissapointment. The Valleygirls put up big points week after week. Best defensive player Chris Clairbone. Abig part of the Vikings surprising sucess this year and the Valleygirls making plays all over the feild. Best player Steve McNair. Easily. |
Been busy most of the week, so I'll have the week 7 review up tomorrow afternoon. :)
Ohh! I got an award! And I can use Tommy Maddox this week! |
Nor Cal Crushers (1-5) d. R.I. Electrons(3-3)
95-92 "The Electrons are hurting, literally. All of their offensive starters are banged up and some are game time decisions. If they do play they are supeior to what the Crushers have but the Crushers are mostly healthy and if they perform could steal this game away." That prettymuch was the story. While Priest Holmes was able to pull in 15 on Monday for the Electrons, and Rodney Harrison yanked 13 against Miami, none of it was enough to make up for the lack of the injured (game-time decision) Eric Moulds, who, had he played, would've probably scored the 4 points needed for victory. I suppose Nor Cal's Quincy Carter scoring 39 didn't help Rhode Island's cause any either. Philly Cheesesteaks (6-0) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-1) 126-101 You'd figure Aaron Brooks's 48 and Michael Pittman's 12 would be enough to put the Cats over the top. But these are the Cheesesteaks we're talking about. While nothing in particular was too spectacular for Philly (save Minnesota's 21), they did have five players in double digits (and two in the 20's), and everyone elase except for the receivers and the kicker were in the high single digits. Conglomeration is the key word here. Philly showed us how it was done. ValleyGirls (5-1) d. -To Be Determined- (3-3) 131-62 With only the QB scoring in double digits for TBD (and a measly 19, at that), they were slim pickings for the ValleyGirls' six players in double digits, including Daunte Culpepper's 36, and a combined defensive effort of 56. Maybe I shouldn't mention the Girls' 26 in the running game. Dunedain (4-1-1) vs. Bane(2-4) Draw 66-66 Dunedain would've been better off benching the QB Joey Harrington, who contributed a -3. That's the story of this low scoring (albeit interesting) game. High notes for Dunedain: Brian Westbrook's 20 and Terrell Owens's 15. High notes for Bane: Garrison hearst with 12, and Cleveland's 10. Another tie on Dunedain's record! Cooney Quest(3-2-1) d. 29 Patriots (1-5) 90-52 "Can Brett Farve overcome his personal Waterloo for the Quest?" Yes he can, with a nice 36. "Can Donovan Mc Nabb regain his form for the Patriots?" Nope, with a lousy 6 points. "Is anyone going to provide support in the running game for either team?" Not really. In fact, the only RB who scored was the Pats' Warrick Dunn with 10. "Most likely the biggest stud today will be the Quests Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense which is rounding into it's usual terrifying self." No, but they helped the Quest with 13. Thank you Ed, for making my job a little easier. :D CB234 (4-2) d. Scrawny White Guys (1-5) 108-57 Another story of a victor having nothing too spectacular, but a great coalition. Six players were in double digits for CB for a combined 91. Shaun Alexander pulled off a better-than-decent 19 for the White Guys, but that was about it. Five of his players put up nothing (literally). Lets recap: CB has six plaers in double digits, the Guys have five players with 0. Math majors, do your work. Coco's Monkeys (1-5) d. Hurricanes (4-2) 75-71 "I'm smelling upset here!" Hell yeah, and a dramatic one at that. Everyone was able to contribute something to the Monkeys' game (except for a lowly defender), including a running game worth 22, and (here's the drama) Trent Green's 17 on Monday. While Jeff Garcia outdid that with 24, nobody else broke through for the Hurricanes. A dramatic upset in the making. Your Team Name (5-1) d. Snowballs (2-4) 95-79 You ever think the Snowballs need a quarterback? Chad Pennington's absence again cost them. Yes, they did have a running total of 24, a receiver scored 17, and Tennesee put up 22. Unfortunately, only four other players scored something, and they were all in single digits. Playing one RB short, YTN was able to capitalize on the receivers' 23, Bledsoe's 21, Scot Fujita's 13, and Seattle's 11. Chesapeake Cruisers (3-3) d. Pinman(0-6) 109-85 This has got to be frustrating for Pinman. A good game put off only by a better game leaves them still winless. If we go a little deeper, we can also see that he had no running game, and only one receiver scored. Pretty good the rest of the way, but the Cruisers had a QB tke in 42, and two others in double digits. He was also pretty good all around too. |

WEEK VIII ANALYSIS
Koko's X-Cats (5-2) vs. CB234 (5-2)
This matchup is highlighted by an excellent quarterback battle as CB234 bring league mid0season <VP Steve McNair against the solid Aaron Brooks for the X-Cats. The battle can be settled in the running backs as Travis Henry will be heavily counted on by the Bills in K.C. and if he does well CB234 runs away with it as the X-Cats are without Duckett this week and Pittman cannot be relied upon, especially against the stout Cowboys defense. R.I Electrons (3-4) vs. Scrawny White Guys (1-6) This game may be the exlir that the fading Electrons need, or is it? The White guys one/ two punch of Shaun Alexnader and Stepthen Davis are no joke. And how effective will Eric Moulds be comming off of a groin injury? And is Maddox out of his funk? Lots of questions best easily answered by a huge game from Preist Holmes. -To Be Dtermined-(3-4) vs. No Cal Crushers (2-5) The Brad Johnson/ Quincy Carter matchup in the Cowboys/ Bucs game will get all of the attention in this one but what Ricky Williams does for -To be Dtermined- on Monday night will truly let us know who will come out on top. Dunedain (4-1-2) vs. Valleygirls (6-1) You'd think Dunedain would have the better team on papaer but the Valleygirls just keep chugging along with Daunte Culpperpper and great play from Moe Williams and an opportunistic Kansacs City Chiefs defense. Keep an eye on what Brain Westbrook does against a poor Jets run defense for Dunedain. Cooney's Quest (4-2-1) vs. Bane (2-4-1) A very unpredictable matchup with the favored Quest sporting alot of blanks on their roster and a beat up Buccaneers defense and alot of question marks from their skill players. Bane on the other hand may be featuring a starting quarterback who got himself benched (agian) last week. Fortunately he does have the rliable Marvin Harrison on his side. 29 Patriots (1-6) vs. Pinman (0-7) This may be Pinman's best opportunity to break through but if he is going to do it he is going to need a good game from Randy Moss and Matt Hasselback. For the 29 Patriots Marc Bulger looks in line for a bigtime game against the coverage challanged Steelers. Not a good sign for the needy Pinman. Hurricane (4-3) vs. Philly Cheesesteaks(7-0) Another challanger with a winning record comes looking to knock the Cheesesteaks off the top of the hill. Peyton Manning vs. the Houston Texans is already a bad sign and Duece McAllister is better than anything Hurricane has. The opportunistic Vikings defense also poses a problem. Jeff Garcia is Hurrican's best hope. Your Team Name (6-1) vs. Coco's Monkeys (2-5) A suddenly dangerous spoiler in the form of the Monkeys come looking to knock off Your Team Name who's producers on offense are up against some tough matchups this week particularly Drew Bledsoe vs. an opportunistic K.C. defense at Arrowhead and Fred Taylor vs. the stingy Titans D. Trent Green may have an easier time of it agaisnt the Bills D at home and Thomlinson and Boston are on a Monday night showcase agaisnt a Dolphin D that has been a little dissapointing. Chesepeak Cruisers (4-3) vs. Snowballs (2-5) The Crusiers who live and die by the Baltimore Ravens sucess may benefit from the Broncos quartback woes (I had heard somewhere that third string QB Danny Kanell has the flu and they may have to use Jurious Jackson who they signed on Friday) instead with Rod Smith as the backup. ( :eek) The SNowballs may finally have Chad Pennington back, just in time not to have Ahman Green around (bye). Try the bench, for God's sake man, the bench! |

Weekly hottest player?!? Cool! Although now we're starting to sound like the Fox network. :p

I'm up by 9, but he has Drew Brees and a defender playing tonight. Eh, maybe he'll be as bad as Drew Bledsoe was last night (I was just short of crying watching that, then I realized that Priest Holmes scored 3 TDs), and I'll just sneak by. Of course, if Brees has a bad game, chances are Fiedler would have a good game, and had I put him in over Maddox, it'd all be a moot point anyway.
