Fantasy Football!

Just like with baseball, I'm also starting a fantasy football league on Yahoo. This is the link. The league ID# is 24009 and the password is "deankamen" (without the quotes). If anyone's interested, please sign up and leave a message on this thread.

George1902 08-07-2003 21:30

Count me in. I wish I had heard of your baseball league. The one I'm in right now is way too easy. I'm beating the second place guy by more than the second place guy is beating the last place guy. (Think about it... it makes sense.)

Anyway, good luck! And GO DOLPHINS!!!

Michael Murphy 09-07-2003 11:17

I'm in.

Patrick Duffy 09-07-2003 23:29

I'm game.

Kristina 10-07-2003 01:20

In a moment of temporary insanity (read: boredom) I signed up just for fun. I do follow the Vikings and football more than any other sport but that's not saying all that much. Let's just say you can count me in as entertainment value, as I'm sure you all will love my team name.

Cory 10-07-2003 15:02

Yes, her team name would be "The Losers" :D

Im in too

Cory

Koko Ed 10-07-2003 16:56

Koko's X-Cats is on the scene!

Dan Richardson 12-07-2003 00:40

And Patrick...you mean it will be funny WHEN I beat Cory. Oh man, my cockiness is going to get me in trouble with you guys.

Dan Richardson 12-07-2003 13:00

Haha :-) Yeah its good stuff I take that name wit me everywhere I go :-)

Heh, I'm gonna try and talk as little trash as possible this time :)

But if any of you draft some of the players I want, there will be hell to pay

Kevyn H. 22-07-2003 18:52

I joined, mastermario2k3 is my yahoo name......

George1902 22-07-2003 19:59

Hey. Can we cut off registration at 14? It's already going to be tough enough to field a team of 2 quarterbacks, 3 running backs, and 2 kickers. If we endid up with 20 teams (the league maximum) then things could become quite unbalanced.

So, what do you think?

Kristina 22-07-2003 20:19

I agree with George. That way we'll also be able to play everyone with the head to head setp-up. Plus, I like being the token girl in the league :)

Coco the Monkey 22-07-2003 20:35

I'm game, I was pretty good at fantasy soccer, I was 132nd in the nation...then again, how many people play fantasy soccer, and how much is based on luck?

Anyway, Cocos Monkeys is here to mix things up a bit.

I currently participate in a 20 team league through another messageboard (last year we had 16 teams). We do the draft in a thread on the board. It's nearly as fun as running the league itself!

George1902 23-07-2003 12:29

Oh, wow... that sounds like fun!

We could all get together one night and make than happen! I'd be in.

Anyone else?

It actually took more like a month to do (when you do things online everybody is REALLY spread out via timezones and it's just hard to all be on the same page). What we found was to PM the league commisioner our top 20 choices for that round so we could get what we wanted otehrwise it was auto-selected.

Kristina 23-07-2003 13:29

Well incase you all haven't looked at the yahoo page and the message board on that, the rules changed around a bit to make the teams smaller instead of cap'ing the amount of teams.

I like the new idea of the draft and we still have over a month to do it. I would definitely offer to help if it's too much work for Eddie but if we're doing this in August, I'll be in Europe where the football they know is soccer.

Here is the draft thread we did last year.

Koko Ed 01-08-2003 08:28

So exactly how and when is this draft being handled?

Brant Bowen 01-08-2003 11:43

I just signed up but I haven't done any fantasy sports before so somebody might have to guide me through the process.

Ryan Dognaux 01-08-2003 12:11

Oh yeah, I signed up too. My team is called the Scrawny White Guys :D

Kristina 01-08-2003 13:11

I know the rules were modified to have smaller teams so that we wouldn't run out of players but I was still wondering about if we could have a cap because I really wanted to be able to play everyone in the head-head format. And yeah, are we just going to do the autodraft?

Cory 02-08-2003 15:38

Can we PLEASE have our second QB back? I have no clue why 17 teams cant choose 2 qb's each. Thats only 34 qb's. There are 107 qb's that can be drafted (Yes I actually counted:)). If your qb gets injured, guess what, youre screwed. It would be nice to have 2 kickers as well.

Cory

EddieMcD 13-08-2003 18:32

I set it to 1 kicker and 1 QB just so we wouldn't cut into the backups.

BTW, the draft is being done automattically, so you can the order of the people you want, and it will try to draft the people you want.

Look at your team and click "Edit Pre-Rankings" Near the top.

And the #1 player goes to whoever picks him first in the random order set in the auto-draft. So If I get the No.1 Pick and Priest Holmes (#1) is my No.1 ranked player, I get him, and no one else does.

Kristina 22-08-2003 01:27

Looking over the rosters some of you seriously need to do some matinance on them. Byes are going to strip down your rosters on certain weeks and practically will garuntee a loss for the unfortunate and unware, especially on defense. Just a word of warning guys.

Cory 24-08-2003 03:40

The fact that its taking two days for the dropping of the horrific players that were drafted for my defense is probably affecting a lot of people. Or I am doing something wrong :p

Dan Richardson 24-08-2003 15:04

:nods: waivers suck

I like them turned off usually

EddieMcD 24-08-2003 15:05

Actually, it's 3 days. Well, more like 4 when you take into account that everything clears at 11:59 the third day.

Koko Ed 26-08-2003 18:12

So nobody wants to make a deal with me for Curtis Martin?

Pin Man 26-08-2003 19:13

I have a sick looking team... I hope they are as good this year as in prior years...

I'm just jealous that you have Randy Moss. In the end I had to choose between Moss and Culpepper as my top Draft pick but I played it safe with Culpepper. As talented as he is, you'll never know when Moss will be arrested for driving into a security officer or announcing that he just doesn't feel like playing.

Pin Man 26-08-2003 19:32

I'd take Moss over Culpepper anyday...

OneAngryDaisy 26-08-2003 21:50

Wow- seems like alot of people didn't even touch their defenses.. I myself was away for a while so couldn't set so much of my draft order- fortunately I snagged many defense players off the waivers..

now, whoever has dawkins please hand him over before some force has to be used. Have a pleasant day. Goodbye.

Defense was a priority with me so I placed the top ranked defensive players(Yahoo rated players who didn't even make rosters ahead of established players like Jason Taylor and Simeon Rice (ranked 1&2 by the sporting News for defensive linemen). I knew better than to let them pick any players for me!

Cory 27-08-2003 02:27

Unfortunately I went through QB, RB's, WR's, Kicker, Defense team, and then my defense so you got Simeon Rice before me *grumbles* Im pretty happy with my team though :)

Cory

Kristina 02-09-2003 17:55

Are you ready for some football?

Ok, despite the fact that my running backs are dropping like flies, I'm still excited.

Just ressurecting this thread though for some of those here who are in the league and haven't touched your teams since the draft. There's lots of teams with players who can't play due to injury or the whatnot, especially defense. So you can't say that no one warned you to make changes before week 1.

Koko Ed 02-09-2003 18:29

I'm taking C-Mart off the trading block now.
You'll all regret not taking him.
The Jets need to run now.

WEEK I ANALYSIS
Koko's X-Cats vs. Pinman
The advantage in the running game could be huge for Koko's X-Cats unless Bettis gets to run the ball in from the 1 on Sunday often. The advantage is defense is also signaificant with the Patriots letting Milloy go.

R.I. Electrons vs. -To Be Determined-
-To Be Determined- has the advantage in the running game and defense . Shockey may not be as effective due to his rib injury may not be fully healed.

Dunedain vs. CB234
CB234 need big days from his backs. I don't think any of his defensive players start for their teams (3 are not active) and Dunedain has advantages in the passing game.

Cooney Quest vs. Philley Cheesesteaks The Cheesesteaks have a bigtime advantage in the running game with McAllister and Garner over Onterio Smith and Duckett. Perhaps he can make up the difference in the passing game but it will be tough to overcome Manning.

29 Patriots vs. Cocos Monkeys
Coco's Monkeys are hoping to overcome thier massive disadvantage of having almost no defense by getting production from Thomlinson and Barber. McNabb is a big time fantasy producer but he could get handcuffed by the Bucs D.

Bane vs. Snowballs
It's battle of the non-performing quarterbacks as both Bane and the Snowballs have decided to stick with Michael Vick and Chad Pennington in spite of them being sidelined with injuries. Fortunately they are playing each other this week so it won't hurt them but they'll want to remedy that by next week I suppose. Looking over the players who will actually be on the field the Snowballs have a distinct advantage in the running game, while Bane has a pair of great recievers to count on. It may come down to whos defense performs the best.

ValleyGirls vs. Chesepeak Cruisers
The Cruiser's bigtime advantage at running back could kill the ValleyGirls and the best she can hope for is a huge week from Culpepper.

No Cal Crushers vs. Your Team Name
Bledsoe is still trying to figure out the Patriots , so Gannon could pull this one out.The running backs and the recievers are fairly even which leaves it up to the defenses to settle it which leans to the Crusher's advantage.

Scrawny White Guys vs. Hurricanes
The matchups on offense are pretty close (with the White Guys interesting two tight end look) but the Hurricans have a big advantage on defense.

I don't know... I do have the top rated RB by just about everyone. It's going to be tough to beat my kickers (despite the fact one is injured), and I have 2 solid recievers, with a pretty good (even if underrated) QB. Defensive wise, he probably does have the edge, but I think I have the edge on offense. It's probably going to come down to luck. Good idea with the weekly analysis thoughy.

Hmmm....kill? Maybe the other way around :) Culpepper did have a really good game against the Packers but I always had faith in the Vikings and my fantasy football team in general. Thanks for putting up with me gloating Steve, I can now officially cheer for Boller and the rest of your Ravens now that I'm not up against you anymore.

I'm surprised there's been no post game analysis yet by someone...oh well, bring on week 2.

WEEK I RESULTS
R.I. Electrons d. -To Be Determined-
138-94
The highest scoring game of the week saw Tommy Maddox pulling in an amazing 44 points for the commisioner. TBD's defense tried to pull through (although he had Buffalo benched), the Electron's total defensive coalition pulled in 50 points on it's own, taking this game for Rhode Island.

Koko's X-Cats d. Pinman
119-77
Aaron Brooks and Chris Chambers both had great games for the Cats. Add that to Jeff Chandler's 16 fantasy points (from 5 field goals), and not even Randy Moss could save pinman.

Dunedain d. CB234
105-96
Despite Tom Brady providing absolutely nothing to Dunedain's score, his WRs and K were able to hold the game against stellar performances by CB's Steve McNair and the New York Giant's defense. Unfortunately, the rest of CB's defensive output absolutely inhaled audibly, pulling in a mere 2 points collectively.

Philley Cheesesteaks d. Cooney Quest
99-66
It was all offense for Philley, pulling in a total of 75 points. Cooney's RBs pulled in nothing, and Favre had a bad day. Meanwhile, Peyton Manning led the Cheesesteaks' scoring with 23.

29 Patriots d. Cocos Monkeys
80-63
Neither defense was stellar (Pats pulled in 20, Monkeys pulled 17), but an all around semi-decent play on the Pat's offense was able to see the difference in this lowest scoring game.

Snowballs d. Bane
94-93
This was an extremely close one, winding down to the closing minutes of Monday night Football. Believe it or not, it did not come down to defense (a combined 33 points between the two). Doug Johnson had the high score for Bane with 34 (hey, he outscored both defenses!), but a solid offensive effort on the Snowball's part, including 22 points from Clinton Portis and 17 from Ahman Green just barely made up for Pennington's absence, edging Bane by 1.

ValleyGirls d. Chesepeak Cruisers
92-58
The Girls defensive coalition and Daunte Caulpepper made an amazing impact on the barely there Cruisers. Nobody on the cruisers hit double digits, and you can't win a game like that.

Your Team Name d. No Cal Crushers
102-96
First off, let me stick my tounge out at Ed for saying Drew Bledsoe couldn't figure out the Patriots. :p Now that that's settled, while Gannon did pull in a nice 41 points, no one else on the Crushers pulled in more than 8 points. However, YTN had 4 players in double digits who raked in 66 points (including the aformentioned Bledsoe). The pretty good offensive effort sealed the deal.

Hurricanes d. Scrawny White Guys
90-62
Jeff Garcia and the WRs were the Hurricanes' story, netting 65, enough to do the job themselves. Although Kurt Warner looked good for the Guys, and Shaun Alexander did his share, a no-show by the K and five defenders (plus the Saints, who would've been better off not showing up) really hurt the chances of making this a game.

Hey Ed, how about you doing the pre-game analysis, and I'll do the recaps.

Koko Ed 12-09-2003 23:01

FIRST FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK II

Koko's X-Cats(1-0) vs. Hurricanes(1-0)
Jeff Garcia is due for a huge week exploitong the Rams inexpeinced corners. The Saints and Aaron Brooks should take advantage of Houston but both are very unpredictable. The running back battle leans Koko's way as does the WR battle (though Chambers should see less of the ball this week). Koko's X-Cats have a big advantage on defense.

R. I. Electrons(1-0) vs. Dunedean (1-0)
So longs as the Electrons have Maddox and Holmes racking up yards and points for them they will be tough to beat. Harrington will miss the Cardinals as an angry Packers team has him in their sights. He may even be able to pull off the reciever battle if Price can get free against the Skins. We all know Owens will get his yards on Sunday.

-To Be Determined- (0-1) vs. Pinman( 0-1)
You know the Dolphins will make sure to give Ricky Williams the ball much more this week and Collins will ba all over the Cowboys on Monday night (WHY ARE THE COWBOYS ON MONDAY NIGHT?) TBD may want to do something about that empty slot on defense though. They are still going to need all the points they can get especially if Moss and Troy Brown come through.

Cooney Quest (0-1) vs. CB234 (0-1)
Another team that need to fill in a blank defensive spot especially considering the disadvantage they have at running back . A great game by the Tampa Bay defense and Brett Farve would help alot.

29 Patriots (0-1) vs. Philley Cheasteaks (0-1)
McNAbb should bounce back to his dominant fantasy football superstar form and Manning does not enjoy playing the Titans. ANtowain Smith is about to get himself bencehed from the look of things and Dunn is sharing too many carriess to be a factor. Garner is effective running and recieving and is more effective as a reciever than the Cheessteaks other recievers. Chicago is a disaterous choice for starting defense and may doom the Cheessteaks to defeat.

Bane (0-1) vs. Coco's Monkeys(0-1)
Talk about denial.
Bane refuses to put in another quarterback even though Michael Vick was being carted around the field in Dallas by the owner in a wheelchair while Coco's Monkeys have no defensive starters. It all depends on how well Trent Green performs to the Miami Dolphins defense against the Jets (since Bane has so many Dolphins) to who wins.

Valley Girls (1-0) vs. Snowballs(1-0)
The ValleyGirls have a huge advantage with Culpepper racking up massive stats against the clueless Bears while Pennington watches his Jets teammates get annilated by Miami from the sidelines. The SNowballs are also missing a defensive starter. Ahman Green and Clinton Portis need to have big weeks for the Snowballs to survive.

No. Cal Crushers (0-1) vs Chesepeak Cruisers (0-1)
Gannon will fill the air with balls vs. Cincy while Plummer tries to get a grip this week. George and Staley have better chances of sucess than Jamal Lewis and Dillon (who may be rendered ineffective by a large deficit). Is Jurevicious a star in the making?

Your Team Name (1-0) vs. Scrawny White Guys(0-1)
While Brees will be squeaking by playing Martyball Bledsoe will be looking to exploit the Jags with big plays. Alexander could be nasty this week(another 5TD half? Could be...)

He may even be able to pull off the reciever battle if Price can get free against the Skins. We all know Owens will get his yards on Sunday.

I'm quite afraid of Dunedean's recievers (Owens and Ward). Last week, I thought I had a poor defense. I'd now like to think that my defensive players are almost unstoppable, and that I have the advantage there (they pulled in 50 last week). Of course, if either Maddox or Holmes has a bad day, I may very well have my rear end handed to me.

You'd better hope Maddox favors Burress instead of Ward. Owens is arunteed to abuse the Rams secondary. It wasn't very good last year and it's far far worse this year.
The Steelers stragth is against the run so Holmes sucess may have to come via the passing game.

It's Dunedain, folks... and I've been worried about this game all week.

Eddie's got me beat at RB, but I think I match up well everywhere else. I chose to start Harrington this week because I've seen quite a bit of Green Bay, and I'm seriously unimpressed. Plus, even a sub-par week for a Mariucci QB is pretty darn good.

With a little luck I'll be 2-0 after this week, but even if I lose I'll prolly be the highest ranked 1-1 team! =-]

Good Luck to everyone this week!

George

That's really what most games will come down to: a little luck. Murphy's law will kill you (ironically, it killed Murphy last week). If one of my players has a bad week, I'm done for. But, I believe the above quote applies to me as well. :)

Garner is effective running and recieving and is more effective as a reciever than the Cheessteaks other recievers. Chicago is a disaterous choice for starting defense and may doom the Cheessteaks to defeat.

Yeah.. Don't remind me about how bad the Bears defense is.. but who am I supposed to pick up? Detroit? Arizona? Cincinatti?

Week 2 Results
R. I. Electrons(1-0) d. Dunedain (1-0)
111-105
A very close game, Dunedain did pull off the reciever battle with an unspectacular combined 25 points, and he took defense 51-38. However, his luck ran out there, as the Electrons Tommy Moddox and Priest Holmes easily made up for the deficit with 52 points. That was the difference.

Koko's X-Cats(1-0) d. Hurricanes(1-0)
120-94
Jeff Garcia did indeed have a huge week, and the matchup was pretty even all around. However, the two empty spots on the Hurricanes' defense and a bad week for their RBs (a total 3 points) stopped them from making a comeback.

-To Be Determined- (0-1) d. Pinman( 0-1)
121-101
Pinman dominated in defense, with New England scoring 32 points alone. But TBD's Brad Johnson, Ricky Williams, and Derrick Mason easily outscored the rest of Pinmans's offense (despite William Green's -2 score) with a combined 68, pulling TBD to an even 1-1.

CB234 (0-1) d. Cooney Quest (0-1)
119-92
Cooney Quest had only two playes in double digits. CB had 6 players in the double digits, adding up to 90 of his 119 points. Add in his TE's 2 points, and he's set.

Philley Cheesesteaks (0-1) d. 29 Patriots (0-1)
102-52
McNabb did not bounce back to his dominant fantasy football superstar form, pulling in a total of 6 for the pats. The Pittsburgh defense did best that -with the horrible score of 8- and no one else could best that. On the Cheesesteak side of things though, Peyton Manning pulled in the high score of 23, with three others in double digits. You do the math.

Bane (0-1) d. Coco's Monkeys(0-1)
73-33
A grand total of 106. Dunedain had a total of 105 in a losing effort. And it wasn't very close either. The Monkeys had a grand total of 0 on defense (doesn't help that 5 of his defenders were NA). Trent Green was their high scorer with 15, and no one else cleared 8. While still having Michael Vick in the QB slot, Bane managed to scrape together more than enough to overcome the 33, with their WRs and Cleveland scoring 39. The rest was mediocre, at best.

ValleyGirls (1-0) d. Snowballs(1-0)
105-50
Culpepper did his job with 32 points. A solid effort from the K and RBs easily eclipsed the 50 set by the Snowballs's lack of a QB and defense (a mere 9).

Chesapeake Cruisers (0-1) d. Nor Cal Crushers (0-1)
141-102
A great game by both sides, the Cruisers had the totally unfair advantage of Jamal Lewis, pulling in 21. Their defense shined too, pulling in 59 points, all rounded off by Deion Ranch, who pulled in 14. While the Crushers' defensive coalition outscored Chesapeake's with 60, but his offense was merely okay. A great week for both teams, but not good enough for Nor Cal to pull off a victory.

Your Team Name (1-0) d. Scrawny White Guys(0-1)
97-94
Ed called it right on Bledsoe, who pulled in 37 on his lonesome. What's very cool about this one is that it came down to MNF. Unfortnately, matt Bryant only had one shot all night, so he could only make up 3 points. YTN was solid all around, with everyone pitching in at least 1 point, while 3 of the Guys' defenders didn't score at all. Those were the differences in this very close matchup.

WEEK III ANALYSIS

Koko's X-Cats(2-0) vs. Your Team Name (2-0)
The QB battle is huge. Bledsoe traditional gives Miami fits while Brooks takes on a very banged up Titans D. I think it's safge to say Zeroue is a bust and don't be suprised if he finds himself back on the bench soon. Faulk and Martin have been very dissapointing performers this week. Interesting matchup at defense. The Packers get the inept Cardinals this week while the ball-hawking Seahawks get the high risk/reward offense of the Rams that hasn't been seeing as many rewards as it used to.

R. I. Electrons (2-0) vs. Cooney's Quest (0-2)
Ther Electrons are slleping at the wheel playing Urlacher who's on a bye while Farve and the Bucs D are looking at potentially big scoring weeks. Holmes and Maddox once again could cover the deficit for him.

-To Be Determined- (1-1) vs. Dunedain(1-1)
Brady Owens and Barlow could have productive weeks. Donedain will need it using the poor tackling porous Detriot Lions defense on his side. An odd sitution exist for TBD as his starting D is up against his stud running back RIcky WIllaims. Perhaps a good week from Brad Johnson will remedy his problem.

29 Patriots (1-1) vs. CB234 (1-1)
Travis Henry has traditionally been a Dolphins killer (like his predecesor Theurman Thomas) and his season is statiscally a disappiontment but fantasy wise he is solid gold. Bulger needs to be careful with the Ball against the opportunistic Seahawks because the Patriots can't expect much help from their running backs this week.

Bane (1-1) vs. Philly Cheasesteaks (2-0)
Doug Johnson is in for tough sailing this week against the Buccaneers and Bane has an odd quandry at his recievers matchup. While he has an advantage with Marvin Harrison and Plexico Burress Harrison's sucess depends heavily on the sucess of Peyton Manning, the Cheesesteaks starting QB. Using the Cleveland Browns defense really hurts as well.

Valleygirls (2-0) vs. Coco's Monkeys (0-2)
As long as Daunte Culpepper stays hot and Coco's Monkey refuse to reapair their defieicnt defense this isn't even a matchup. Too bad. Except at quarterback the Monkey actually have better players on offense than the Valleygirls.

No Cal Crushers (0-2) vs. Snowballs (1-1)
Who gets burned first? The Snowballs for insisting on playing the absent Pennington or the Crushers playing Staley who is on a bye. Fortunately for the Snowballs they have Protis and Green picking up the slack. Holt and Koren Robinson will help as well but that matchup with Keshawn Johnson and Robinson's teammate Darrell Jackson is much closer. This matchup depends on what Gannon does on Monday night.

Scrawny White Guys(0-2) vs. Chesepeeak Cruisers (1-1)
The White Guys are instantly at a disadvantage without Stephen Davis and Brees is not going to light up the Ravens D. They'd better hope Sahun Alexander has a very big week and Jamal Lewis is somewhat controled by the Chargers D.

Hurricane(1-1) vs. Pinman (0-2)
The Hurricane is in big big trouble with a day-to-day Jeff Garcia, an underperforming Dolphins defense and three blank spots on the roster. Who's there to step up? Alge Crumpler? Anything from Troy Brown and Randy Moss will seal the deal.

Honestly, Cinncy might be a better pickup considering your situation. They cotained the Raiders fairly well last week. I'd keep an eye on them and if they have a decent game this week I would probably take them over the Bears....

I picked up Minnesota 5 minutes before game time last week, and they've done well sofar... They're playing Detroit *cough*- but I'll keep a eye on Marvin Lewis- the dude is a mastermind

Can't do much about Urlacker. I'd like to keep him, and my bench spots are used up on vital positions I'm going to need if there's a bye. Again, it probably will come down to what Maddox & Holmes do for me.

Week 3 Results

Cooney Quest (0-2) d. R.I. Electrons (2-0)
99-84
Believe me, the commisioner is kicking himself for not putting in Denver. That would've covered the difference right there. And a great day for Sapp and his Tampa bretheren only made things worse for the Electrons. Maddox and Holmes did rack up points, but it wasn't enough.

Koko's X-Cats(2-0) d. Your Team Name (2-0)
82-48
Pretty much every bad day for every player happened this week to YTN (it's Murphy's fault!). His offense scored 15 all together (doesn't help that Bledsoe hadd a terrible night on Sunday. :( ). His defense was better, but no where near a match for the Cat's QB and receivers, who outscored YTN's total by 1.

Dunedain(1-1) d. -To Be Determined- (1-1)
106-91
A very close game. TBD had it with Brad Johnson, Ricky Williams, and Buffalo pulling a combined 56. But Dunedain had 5 players in double digits, and an all-around effort to edge out TBD.

CB234 (1-1) d. 29 Patriots (1-1)
98-84
Another all around even match had the Pats receivers scoring 5. But CB's did much worse (a 5 and a -4, for a total 1). The rest of the matchup was extremely even, with prettymuch no difference between the teams. Well, except for Mike Vanderjagt. He scored 12 for CB, as opposed to Brown's 2. And that made the game. Who say's kickers don't make a difference?

Philly Cheesesteaks (2-0) d. Bane (1-1)
109-55
Bane had a RB with 17, and Cleveland with 10. That's about it. Over in Philly though, Peyton Manning pulled in 33, Andre Johnson took 22 (making up for his partner's -2), and Minnesota scored 15. Everyone on the Cheesesteaks contributed at least a point (minus the afforementioned WR), taking a dominant victory.

Valleygirls (2-0) d. Coco's Monkeys (0-2)
101-66
"As long as Daunte Culpepper stays hot and Coco's Monkey refuse to reapair their defieicnt defense this isn't even a matchup. Too bad. Except at quarterback the Monkey actually have better players on offense than the Valleygirls." Hey, Ed saved me a lot of time on this one. :D

Nor Cal Crushers (0-2) d. Snowballs (1-1)
76-55
Everyone not on a bye or injured contributed to their teams. Both sides had solid coalitions going on with (other than QB) Nor Cal taking defense, and the Snowballs taking offense. Obviously Pennington put up a 0 for the Snowballs, and actually it came down to Rich Gannon's on Monday. While a 16 isn't that great for a QB, it was enough to boost the Crushers to their first win.

Chesapeake Cruisers (1-1) d. Scrawny White Guys(0-2)
117-65
I don't think the White Guys showed up this week (is it just me, or did what I just say not sound right? ). Other than Drew Brees putting up a 22, half the defense just sat around twittleing their thumbs. That, and no one else cleared single digits. The Cruisers, on the other hand, had 7 players in double digits, including a stellar 36 from Jake Plummer. Since we're all FIRSTers here, I think we can do the math on this. The Cruisers 117 (high score of the week) is enough to beat just about anyone.

Hurricane(1-1) d. Pinman (0-2)
94-72
The Hurricane is not in big big trouble with a day-to-day Jeff Garcia, an underperforming Dolphins defense and three blank spots on the roster(another moment made a little easier by Ed :p ). Jeff Garcia had 21, Miami had 19, and only one player was off this week. Pinman had good scores by Vinateri and New England, but an underperforming QB and a lack of anything else clearing single digits prettymuch gave this game to The Hurricanes.

WEEK IV ANALYSIS

Koko's X-Cats (3-0) vs. Chesepeak Cruisers (2-1)
The X-Cats find themselves in quite a bind this week, after losing their two stud starting recievers in a waiver wire blunder ( :( ) they now have to depend on their underperforming running backs to come through. The Cruiser actually match up or surpass the X-Cats in every category. Alot depends on what the Baltimore Ravens defense will do against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

R.I. Electrons (2-1) vs. 29 Patriots (1-2)
The Electron's bread and butter of PRiest Holmes and Tommy Maddox actually have tougher matchups this week and alot will depend on how they do this week of course but the Patriots could use a big game from Bulger and anything from their running backs, otherwise they'll need to look to their recievers to outperform the Electron's recivers.

-To Be Dtermined- (1-2) vs. Cooney's Quest (1-2)
This one isn't a case of who is there as much as it is a case of who isn't. The glaring absence of Ricky Williams due to a bye leaves TBD having to look elsewhere to fill his massive shoes. Testeverde, Willim Green and the Bills defense is the best bet to do that. Cooney's Quest is missing a couple of players as well. Most notably Warren Sapp. If Coles and Betts perform well this weekend thsi one is over quickly.

Dunedain (2-1) vs. Pinman (1-2)
Joey Harrington's production against Denver (he will either be a good player or a total goat) goes a long way to determining what Dunedain will do, now that Pinman's Marc Brunell may be facing time on the bench (why not trade this proud and productive player to a team that need him? Like Dallas?) . All other matchups are close and it could sway one way or the other.

Bane (1-2) vs. CB234 (2-1)
To put it plainly: Bane is screwed! Going into the week with six players missing is a glaring example of why you draft with your head and not your heart. Never fill your roster with your favorite team mostly. If they perform poorly or, as in this case, are on a bye you are left hanging. Bane's only hope is if Harrison and Burress have out of thier mind weeks and if Doug Johnson can control his inept play. If McNair plays well CB234 wins easily.

Valley Girls (3-0) vs. Philly Cheasesteaks (3-0)
Game of the week! THe Valleygirls have been riding the hot arm of Daunte Culpepper to victory and now must look elsewhere to fill the void in his absence. Moe Williams may be her best bet for salvation. The Cheesesteaks will be looking for better production from Peyton Manning and Duece McAllister in a game they should easily win actually.

No Cal Crushers (1-2) vs. Coco's Monkeys (0-3)
All Coco's Monkey have going for them is LaDanian Thomlinson. Period. They need to be taken over by the commisoner, seriously. No team should be ran like this.

Scrawny White Guys (0-3) vs. Snowballs (1-2)
More like Stephen davis vs. Ahman Green. Whomever wins this battle wins the week.

Hurricanes (2-1) vs. Your Team Name (2-1)
Your Team Name needs better production from Amos Zeroue to win the running back battle and Chad Johnson and Curtis Conway need to break through in their matchups for the Hurricanes. Very closely matched week with both teams fortunate enough to have their defenses on the bye at the same time.

EddieMcD 27-09-2003 21:32

Well, barring a tie, we'll be losing an undefeated team this week. Maybe two, after that receiver blunder for the Cat's (and yes, I was laughing at that the whole time. :p). Also, poor Bane. That situation is nasty. And I can't take over the Monkeys. He has it set so I can't edit his roster. Looks like an interesting week though.

I had no choice but to cut my recievers. I certainly wasn't going to leave the options blank. They're not THAT good.

Look out for Cooney's Lamar Gordon (picked up of waivers as soon as Marshall Faulk got hurt :p ) I know this man (no I really do, he went to my former high school), he'll take most of the touches out of the backfield for St. Louis, hopefully pick up my running game.

Well just like Ricky I'll be cheering for a high school alumnus too. Since Culpepper got hurt, I finally took Kyle Boller off the bench. He's a rookie right out of Berkeley (sister school of UCLA) but before that he was a senior when I was a freshman at Hart High school so I've seen him play then and I'm hoping for big things out of him this week. Sheesh, talk about a hard week for me to cheer...I have to stay loyal to my Minnesota Vikings, especially with Moe Williams but the Cheesesteaks have the Vikings defense. Then \I need Boller to come through but I had to risk it and put in KC's defense since Philly's been off and KC's been on, when KC is playing Boller's Baltimore this week. I have faith though! (hey, it's helped me keep a perfect record so far, why stop now?)

Pinman 0-4, 341 points
Scrawny White Guys 0-4, 293 points

WEEK 4 RESULTS
Chespeak Cruisers114 Koko's X-Cats 61
The Cruisers were led by Jake Plummers terrific 39 points performance. Add in 15 points from Jeff Wilkins, 14 points from Jamal Lewis and 10 points from Ray Lewis and the X-Cats were left in the dust who were led by the Green Bay Packers defense, who scored 14 points. A 39-3 difference in the quarterbacks and a 14-1 difference in the running backs tell the tale of how this massacare unfolded.

R.I. Electrons84 29 Patriots
Brain Urlachers 4 points on Monday night provided the points for the Electrons to barely escape the Patriots who were led by Marc Bulger's powerful 47 point performance. Jerry Rice also scored 10 points for the Partiots. The Electrons got 29 points from Tommy Maddox as well as 11 points from Eric Moulds. A 26-12 defensive scoring advantage helped close the gap for the Electrons.

Cooney's Quest99 -To Be Determined-63
Cooney's Quest rode Brett Farve's 38 points to victory over -To Be Dtermined- who were led by Vinny Testeverdee's 25 points. Unfortunately no one else came close to scoring in double figures on the team. Cooney's quest also had 10 points from Darren Sharper and used a commanding 16-4 scoring advantage by the running backs to solidify the victory.

Dunedain114 Pinman90
Joey Harrington scored 29 points, the Carolina Panthers defense scored 16 points, David Thorton scored 15 points and Hines Ward scored 10 points as Dunedain's balanced scoring overcame Randy Moss' 30 pointss for Pinman who also got 11 points from Greg Wesley. Marc Brunnell's benching proved fatal to Pinman's efforts.

CB23470 Bane56
Steve McNair scored 36 pointsfor CB234 to outduel Doug Johnson who scored 13 for Bane who also recieved 27 points from Marvin Harrison but terribly missed the Miami Dolphins D as they were outscored 14-3 on defense in spite of the poor 49ers defense's -2 performance. CB234 also receved 13 pints from Mike Vanderjagt.

Philly Cheesesteaks143 Valleygirls83
Peyton Manning's amazing 62 points nearly outscored the Valley girl's by himself. 24 points by Kansas City Chiefs and 11 points each by Charles Rogers and Chris Clayborne was all the Valley girls could do to keep the Cheesteaks on the horizon who also got 15 points form the Minnesota Vikings defense, 14 points from Duece McAllister and 10 points each from Andre Johnson and Sebastain Janikowski.

Coco's Monkeys 74 No Cal Crushers52
Coc's Monkey got 26 points each from Trent Green and LaDamamain Thomlinson to easily Crush the Crushers who got 18 points from the Indianapolis Colts defense and 16 points from Quincy Carter. 26-4 scoring deficit in the running game and a 35-16 advantage in the passing game provided the scoring difference.

Snowballs81 Scrawny White Guys 72
The Tennesse Titans defense scored 22 points and Ahman Green and Torry Holt scored 21 points each as the Snowballs overcame Drew Bree's solid 33 point performance to escape the Scrwny White Guys who also got 15 points from Stephen Davis and 14 points from Shannon Sharpe but were outscored 33-1 on defense.

Your Team Name114 Hurricanes42
Drew Bledsoe outscored Jeff Garcia 44-1 to set the tone for this one sided matchup. Your Team Name also got a 23-2 advantage in the running game as Amos Zeroue and Fred Taylor scored 15 and 8 points respectively. The St. Louis Rmas defense also scored 14 points for Your Team Name. The Hurricanes got 16 points from Chad Johnson and 12 points from the Dallas Cowboys defense.

WEEK 5 ANALYSISSnowballs(2-2) vs.
Koko's X-Cats(3-1)
With Clintor Portis questionalble, Chad Pennington out and Torry Holt on a bye the Snowballs are going to need a record breaking performence from Ahman Green and Koren Robinson to win and some bad performances from the X-Cats players.

R.I. Electrons(3-1) vs. Bane(1-3)
The Electrons have been struggling a bit as of late and need strong performances from Preist Holmes and Tommy Maddox to reclaim their spot as one of the leagues elite teams. Bane's two stud recivers Harrison and Burress and the Miami Dolphins defense could cause the Electrons all sorts of headaches. How Denvers defense handles KC for the Electrons and how Clevelands D handles Pittsburgh for Bane will also be a big factor.

-To Be Determined-(1-3) vs. 29 Patriots(1-3)
To Be Determined has a sizeable advantage with Ricky Williams at running back over Antowain Smith and Warrick Dunn for the 29 Patriots. The Patriots need a big game from Donovan McNabb to keep it close.

Dunedain(3-1) vs. Cooney's Quest(2-2)
Two top line defenses highlight this matchup. Dunedain's Carolina Panthers defense may have the easier task going against the free falling Saints while Cooney's Quest Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense has to put up with a red hot Peyton Manning and the Colts high powered offense. Terrell Ownes could be in for a huge week against his former coach for Dunedain.

Valleygirls(3-1) vs. CB234(3-1)
The Valleygirls will rely onthe arm of Gus Freotte and the legs of Moe Williams against the beleagured Falcons as CB234 bring the red hot Steve McNair against the depeleted Patriots but may be without both his strting running backs. Anquan Boldin need to step up big time in big D to save the day for CB234, if that's the case.

Philly Cheesesteaks(4-0) vs. No Cal Crushers(1-3)
This isn't quite as glaring a mismatch as it may first seem. For the first time in a few weeks the Crushers are comming into a game with a full roster and jsut in time too as they take on the league leading Philly Cheesesteaks. Obviously how Peyton Manning handles the relentless Tampa Bay defense will go a long way indetermining who win this game. The Crushers could aso use better production from Duce Staley and Eddie George to keep up with Charlie Garner and Duece McAllister ofr the Cheessteaks.

Coco's Monkeys(1-3)vs. Scrawny White Guys(0-4)
Is this the week the White Guys break through? Once again Coco's Monkey will lean heavily on the production of Trent Greena dn LaDanian Thomlinson. But the Scrawny White guys can counter them with Drew Brees, Shaun Alexander and Stephen Davis. If they can get a good performance from theor defense tey should win.

Chespeak Cruisers(3-1) vs. Hurricanes(2-2)

The Cruisers are leaving a lot of blank spots on their roster this week as the Baltimore Ravens are on a bye. Jake Plummer may be his only hope. Of course if the Hurricnae's Jeff Garcia continues his poor play it may not matter who is or is not playing on the other teams roster.

Your Team Name(3-1) vs. Pinman(0-4)
Pinman may have to rely on bigtime production from Randy Moss again and hope for somehting big from Emmit Smith on his Dallas reunion to overcome Drew Bledsoe going against the benched Marc Brunell and solid advantages in the running game.

Week 4 Results

Sorry about the lateness. I was very busy the last few days. Anyhow:

Week 4 Results

R.I. Electrons (2-1) d. 29 Patriots (1-2)
84-83
Okay... that was close. The Pats' Mark Bulger put up an impressive 47 points... and that was all really either team had. The Electrons had some help from Maddox (29) and Moulds (11), but it came down to higher average score on Rhode Island's part. That, and Brian Urlacher putting up 4 on monday.

Chesapeake Cruisers (2-1) d. Koko's X-Cats (3-0)
114-61
The reciever blunder dind't necessisarily kill the X-Cats, but their combined 9 didn't help. Underperforming days for Martin and Kevin Faulk (combined 1) made matters worse. Other than the Green Bay defense who scored 14, no one else hit double digits. The defense was the only thing shining Koko's way, it just wasn't enough to outdo a Jake Plummer 39, a Jamal Lewis 14, the kicker's 15, and Ray Lewis's 10. One more undefeated team out of the way.

Cooney Quest (1-2) d. -To Be Dtermined- (1-2)
99-63
Cooney Quest was all there this week, including a 38 put up by Favre. TBD wasn't there. While Testaverde scored 25, only one other person cleared 5. granted, a lot of his players put up 5's, but a lot of Cooney's player's exceeded 5.

Dunedain (2-1) d. Pinman (1-2)
114-90
Not a bad match at all, Like Ed said, other than the QB matchup, it was even. Joey Harrington put up 29, easily enough to put away Brunell's 0. Pinman had an amazing 30 by Randy Moss to make this a match, but the whole QB thing never gave him a chance.

CB234 (2-1) d. Bane (1-2)
70-56
"To put it plainly: Bane is screwed! Going into the week with six players missing is a glaring example of why you draft with your head and not your heart. Never fill your roster with your favorite team mostly." Yeah, prettymuch. Seven of Bane's players put up a big donut, six because of byes. While CB's RBs didn't play (literally), and San Francisco had -2 points, Steve McNair's (yes, you heard right) 36 was definitely enough to make up any lost ground.

Philly Cheesesteaks (3-0) d. ValleyGirls (3-0)
143-83
We knew that barring a tie, we'd lose an undefeated team this week. Who would've thought it'd happen in this fashion though? The ValleyGirls abruptly stopped after Kansas's 24, and Charles Rogers's & Chris Claiborne's equal 11's. Now to be fair, Philly had Peyton Manning. He scored (this has to be a record) 63. 'Nuff said. And then there was one...

Coco's Monkeys (0-3) d. Nor Cal Crushers (1-2)
74-52
"All Coco's Monkey have going for them is LaDanian Thomlinson. Period. They need to be taken over by the commisoner, seriously. No team should be ran like this." Agreed... but he scored 26. Trent Green equaled. And that was prettymuch it. But they were able to beat Nor Cal's Quincy Carter, who only put up 16. Five of his player's didn't score. An upset in the making, folks.

Snowballs (1-2) d. Scrawny White Guys (0-3)
81-72
Green and Holt... that's all I'm gonna to say. A combined 42, plus Tennesee's 22 somehow made up for the Snowball's lack of a QB. Drew Brees put up a 33 for the Guys, but a defense that wasn't there and lack of a kicker this week made Brees's performance the Guy's only.

Your Team Name (2-1) d. Hurricanes (2-1)
114-42
[/i]"Very closely matched week..."[/i] Hey, Even Ed get's these things wrong. No one saw Bledsoe's 44 (well, i did, but only because i'm a Bills fan :p ). He beat the Hurricane's on his own, so I'm not going to mention Amous Zereoue's 15, or St. Louis 14. dallas scored 12 on the hurricane side of things, but Garcia had a 1. Chad Johnson had 16, but the RBs combined for 2. That's about it.

And the intensity mounts... I have Manning going in tomorrow's game while Nor Cal has Gramatica and Barber- and we're neck to neck...
Actually, I'm pretty satisfied, as my beloved Donovan showed up that politically incorrect critic Limbaugh... The last minute was rather intense though, who could've thought Ramsey would lead the Redskins to 9 points in I:06, i'm still in disbelief at how Coles was wide open in the zone for the 2pt conversion and was horribly overthrown... Who's complaining though? And just wait until Dawkins, Vincent, and Taylor come back :P

Koko Ed 05-10-2003 21:48

So Portis plays aftert all and has a knockout game and Green plays great too. It all comes down to how I do in the reciever and defensive score to see if I win out.

EddieMcD 10-10-2003 17:21

Bane(1-3) d. R.I. Electrons(3-1)
135-89
Really not a bad day for the Electrons, they took that ever present receiver battle 33-28. All else is very even until you get to Tommy Maddox's 1. That cost Rhode island the game. That, and Cleveland scored 22 compared to the Bronco's 7.

Koko's X-Cats(3-1) d. Snowballs(2-2)
112-60
Well, the Snowballs dominated the running game 32-4. Of course Chad Pennington's absence helped Patric Ramsey put the Cats up by two with his 34. Tony Holt's bye was also felt; The X-Cat's took the receiving game 26-9. Four of the Snowballs defense never scored. I think you can see where this is headed.

-To Be Determined-(1-3) d. 29 Patriots(1-3)
121-101
Exciting, to say the least. The Pats clearly took defence 53-31 and running 21-13. But TBD's main factor was Brad Johnson, pulling in 46. Compared to McNabb's 18, that covers the scoring difference.

Cooney Quest(2-2) d. Dunedain(3-1)
111-105
It took two defensemen on Monday to get Cooney the win. That's how close this one was. Close running and receiving games, and a close defense made the real difference another QB battle. Farve outscored Harrington by 13 putting these two teams even in the records.

ValleyGirls(3-1) d. CB234(3-1)
118-104
McNair and Travis Henry had capital days for CB, combining for 56. And then a sudden halt. Edgerrin James was out on injury, and everyone else scored kinda low. It came down to defense on the Girls side, with a total of 52. Their scores were slightly higher, and enough to edge CB.

Philly Cheesesteaks(4-0) d. Nor Cal Crushers(1-3)
127-79
All I really have to say is Peyton Manning, and this review would be over. Yeah, he had some help from his DEF and K. Rich Gannon only had 11 for Nor Cal, and his Oakland brothers pulled a mere 10. But hey, all I have to say is Peyton Manning ;).

Scrawny White Guys(0-4) d. Coco's Monkeys(1-3)
101-88
I just don't get it. The Monkey's have no, I repeat, NO defense! How are they even able to break 50? For the second week in a row, the offense comes up big for them, with Trent Green, Tiki Barber, and David Boston scoring 64 (more than 75%). Now, if it had a defense, Coco would've been able to get by Drew Brees's 47. But alas, it just doesn't happen.

Hurricanes(2-2) d. Chesapeake Cruisers(3-1)
75-56
"The Cruisers are leaving a lot of blank spots on their roster this week as the Baltimore Ravens are on a bye. Jake Plummer may be his only hope. Of course if the Hurricnae's Jeff Garcia continues his poor play it may not matter who is or is not playing on the other teams roster." Thank you, oh psychic Ed.

Your Team Name(3-1) d. Pinman(0-4)
99-73
Pinman had it all in defense, with a 31. Add that to Randy Moss's 19, and you come close to Pinman's total output. While YTN had absolutely no defense, a dominant WR duo, a pretty good RB game, and a solid (even if a little underscoring) QB were enough to boost them close to the century mark. Pinman is now the last of the winless teams.

I'm trying to play like the movie 'Major League' but football style! (suck in the beginning, then come back to win in the end)

I apologize to all the members in this league, Cory PMed me and I went and fixed the starting line up for the Monkeys. We have a defense!

Once again, I'm sorry for not checking it.

WEEK VI ANALYSIS

Koko's X-Cats (4-1) vs. Coco's Monkeys (1-4)
It's the Kookoo for Coco game (heh. sorry.)! Coco's Monkey's finally got the message and put in players on defense who are actually playing but even the highest scoring defensive studs are not going to make up for the absence of LaDanian Thomlinson combined. Unless Tiki Barber has a carrer day and Paul Edinger kicks 50 50 yard fields and scores a touchdown Coco's Monkeys really are hopelessly outmatched.

R.I. Electrons (3-2) vs. Valleygirls (4-1)
The fading Electrons are looking for Tommy Maddox to recover from his terrible slump and Priest Holmes to regain his magic touch. The Valleygirls aren't exactly laiden with household names on offense but they get the job done.

-To Be Determined- (2-3) vs. Bane (2-3)
Bane has disturbing reliance on three teams, the Colts, the Browns and the Dolphins. It's been hit and miss but there is no denying TIm Couch has suddenly been red hot and Marvin Harrison is his usual awesome self. TBD's Ricky Williams though is far superior to Bane's Ricky Williams and is always looked upon for big things.

Dunedain (3-1-1) vs. 29 Patriots(1-4)
Talk about irony, the Patriots are relying on the sucess or failure of Patriot's quarterback Tom Brady against the Giants. Dunedain also sports pretty good advantages in the passing and running games as well.

Cooney's Quest (2-2-1) vs. Pinman (0-5)
Is this the week Pinman breaks through. IT isn't looking good with Cooney's Quests Tampa Bay defense angry and hungry going up against an offense taylored made for them to pound; coach Steve Spurrier's pass happy Redskins who also give up alot of sacks. A strong outing from Matt Hasselback and Trung Canidate could make up for that.

No Cal Crushers (1-4) vs. CB234 (3-2)
If nothing else Travis Henry will be very busy for CB234 (Eric Mould's likely won't play, I saw the guy laying on the turf at the Ralph last weekend crying in agony form his groin injury. He certainly won't be very effective if he plays. The Bills will rely on Henry). McNiar has been very good this year as well. The Crushers need Rich Gannon to regain his MVP form and anything from their dissapointing running backs.

Scrawny White Guys (1-4) vs. Philly Cheesesteaks(5-0)
The White Guys broke into the win column last week and now face the league leading Cheesesteaks who feature Peyton Manning. The White guys have instnatly been hamstrung by having no one to answer the bell for that matchup (Drew Brees is on a bye) and will need strong games from Shaun Alexander and Stephen Davis (who would also help the White Guys by keeping the ball out of Manning's hands) to make up the difference.

Hurricane (3-2) vs. Snowballs (2-3)
While Chad Pennington has been upgraded to doubtful for the Bills game, he is likely not playing. Therefore The Hurricanes have a distinct advatage aat quartback with Jeff Garcia. As in the Scrawny White Guys/ Philley Cheesesteaks matchup, the Snowballs will have to rely on good solid production from their two running backs Clinton Portis and Ahman Green to make up the defecit.

Your Team Name (4-1) vs. Chesepeak Cruisers (3-2)
YTN may not be able to rely on the arm of Drw Bledsoe who may be missing Eric Moulds this week and weill have to instead seek solid games from his backs and recievers to supplant the defieicincy. Jamal Lewis could be killer for the Cruisers today aginst the meek Cardinals D.

Talk about last minute, but I switched out Eric Moulds. So much for Bledsoe's passing stats. I may also regret this, but I switched Tommy Maddox for Jay Fiedler. I kinda don't like Maddox against the pretty d@mn good Denver defense (which I also have :p ).

EddieMcD 12-10-2003 13:34

Alright, that was quick. Directly from Yahoo:

Week 5 Tampa Bay - Indianapolis Scoring
We apologize for any confusion experienced with the scoring of the Keenan McCardell touchdown on Monday night.
The following details the final scoring for this play, which was applied to ALL leagues and cannot be modified within individual Custom Leagues.

1. Keenan McCardell received credit for a return touchdown. Therefore, if your league does not use return touchdowns, the touchdown will not count in your league. ** The Tampa Bay defense does not get credit for a return touchdown.

2. Keenan McCardell received credit for a fumble recovery only in those leagues using the fumble recovery category for individual players.

3. The Tampa Bay defense lost the points associated with a second defensive TD. Teams with the Tampa Bay defense for week 5 received points for only 1 touchdown.

I underlined what you need. Tampa originally scored 13 for Cooney. However, they now no longer got credit for the touchdown, bringing it down to 7, just enough to make it a tie. Of course, they do this after I write the scores... Sorry about all this. Lets rewrite this one:

Cooney Quest(2-2) vs. Dunedain(3-1)
Draw
105-105
It took two defensemen on Monday and the Tampa defense to draw Cooney to a tie. This was a good one all around. Close running and receiving games, and a close defense made the real crowd pleaser another QB battle. Farve outscored Harrington by 13. We got a tie, folks!

Oh Man!
McNiar is in the zone today!
400+ yards and three TDs already!

If only McNair hadnt had such a day... and its still not over!!!!!!!!! oh well... Im only losing by 10 points. If Gannon were even slightly effective, I might win every once in awhile

Rice was a knockout today as suspected. 4 sacks and a fumble recovery.
Spectacular.

In my matchup, I am the only one who has someone playing tonight: Peerless Price. I'm down by 9, so I really need him to come through. Of course, had I kept Tommy Maddox in, I'd be up by 1, and I wouldn't have to worry about all this. I guess there's a lesson in all this...

It's pretty bad when I'm sitting infront of the TV intently, instead of doing my reading, not caring who wins so long as Price gets no receptions, yards, or touchdowns. The guys on my floor were laughing at me...oh well, I got my victory against the commissioner despite my Vikings being on bye. Even though that was a little too close for comfort, I'm happy :)
