Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
i was just wondering who else loved Pirates of the Caribbean? i saw it twice in two days :D. we could not resist seeing it again! orlando bloom is such a cutie and jonny depp is just hott!! but other than that, i thought it was awesome and i am counting down the days til it comes out on dvd.
|
Hell yeah! I just saw it yesterday and I've decided I'm spending the first bit of money that comes my way to see it again! Jhonny Depp is the coolest character I think I've ever seen. He by far fleshed it out better than any other pirate animated or otherwise. So cool. And it's DISNEY! I couldn't believe it. Well, the title should have tipped me off, but whatever :p

awesome movie!
wonder if there will be a sequel..... :D Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We pillage plunder, we rifle and loot. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Maraud and embezzle and even highjack. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We kindle and char and in flame and ignite. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We burn up the city, we're really a fright. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villians and knaves. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We're beggars and blighters and ne'er do-well cads, Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads, Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. :D |
Great movie.... great movie...

Aye - Twas a GREAT Movie
watched it twice and enjoyed it even more the second time! Might just have to re-name my boat... er.... ship!
|
I thought it was good. I only had one problem though
With all that blood and violence it should have been rated "RRRRRR!!!!" hehe, loved it :) |
I saw it on opening night and the day after. I really do love it.
The best part - "If you like pain, try wearing a corset." ... either that, or Orlando Bloom. mmmmmm. |
I'm glad to see that the public is receiving this film well.
I haven't seen it yet, but I am looking forward to it and the upcoming "Haunted Mansion" film. It's ironic that the Studios only recent hit movie was one based on their theme park rides and things weren't the other way around. Maybe it'll be a wake up call to Disney. |
I swear, there is just something about Johnny Depp in raggedy clothing and the dreads and messy hair...but mostly it is the eye shadow that makes it all come together...never in my life have I actually thought that a celebrity was hot....and I mean NEVER. I have to see that movie again!!! Forget Terminator 3 and all of its extravagent special effects! Well, maybe.
|
I saw the movie with a few friends, and we all loved it. it was a great time! i honestly want to see it again.
I LOVED johnny depp... he was soooooo sexy in that eyeliner, and we all loved his drunken swagger!!! we also enjoyed orlando bloom, lol... plenty of hot guys in that movie!!! plus, we all laughed- a lot... i love that movie.. a lot. |
def one of the best movies i've ever seen. and yes johnny depp and orlando bloom are sooooo hot! what a combination!! it's almost as if they were meant to be pirates!i a so going to see it again, and again, and again....;)

Anyways, Fun Fact of the day time!!! Did you know that Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is the first Disney movie with a rating as high as PG-13?? edit: Of course this is counting only "Disney" movies and not affiliate companies like MGM and their movies. Yup, you heard it hear first folks!! |
MGM isn't affiliated with Disney in any way, short of their naming partnership at the company's Florida theme park and that park's access to MGM's film library.
In fact, MGM has wanted to end that relationship for quite some time. The Walt Disney Co., however, does anyone many other movie studios. Among these are Touchstone, Dimension, and Hollywood Pictures. Each of these has produced many movies that are PG-13 or above in their rating. While PotC is their first PG-13 rated film released under Disney's own brand name, it's not the first non-G rated film. That honor, for anyone who's keeping track at home, goes to 1979's The Black Hole. :) |
jonnyo is a total baller through that whole film
|
Wonderful movie. I've seen it 3 times and if I can get a ride, I'm going again :) My parents liked it but they still think I'm nuts.
Johnny Depp was great as Captain Jack Sparrow and ORlando Bloom was good as Will Turner and on and on. I have a ? for ya'll. Did any of the girls go to see it because the movie looked good or just because Johnny Depp and/or Orlando Bloom was in it? No offense to anyone, just an observation that most other girls did. Definatley one of my favorite movies. I think it may even be better then LOTR and HP. :) Savvy- a word that I am seriously trying to add into my vocabulary :) Peace |
I've seen it several times, and it is a great movie.
Jack Sparrow and Barbosa are the two people that really make the movie good. Will and elizibeth are your typical BORING predicatable cliche disney characters. The movie would have sucked if they had been the only leads. The pirates, tho, the pirates were great. I thought Barbosa was a great character, second only to Jack sparrow (friend of mine: "Thats no swagger, thats a stagger!") |

I liked all the pirate lingo better. Whenever any of them opened their mouthes I was laughing. Half the time it took a few viewings just to figure out what the hell the pirates meant through all those aye! arrr! me mateys!. |
I would have to agree with everyone- its was a fantastic movie. I predict Johnny Depp will win numerous awards for his portryal of Jack Sparrow. He wears more eyeliner than me, yet I've never seen it look so sexy....
|
personally I think Depp was better in the movie Blow (no it's not porn)... It's about the Weymouth drug dealer... They say that if you bought cocaine in th 70's or 80's there was a 95% chance it came from him... It was a great movie...

Just saw the movie tonight... I loved it. Johnny Depp was great as Jack Sparrow. Fantastic movie!
|
I loved the ride references, but I didn't see the dumping of the mayor into the well in the movie...
"DON'T TELL HIM CARLOS! NO-NO-NO!! *shot* AAAYEEE!!!" |

I thought the movie was funny, especially the part about burning the rum. |
I saw Pirates of the Caribbean for the movie... not the stars. Although they did grab my attention (Orlando Bloom *drool*) No seriously though, I liked the movie for the characters, and IMO Johnny Depp made the movie... he played an excellent role as Jack Sparrow.:D
|
I saw it and it was a cool movie all around.
But.. I know somone who walked out after 15 minutes because he thought that Johnny Depp's character was acting... (umm.. how should I put this) fruity... I noticed that too, but just wrote it off as part of the character I guess. |
I LOVED THAT MOVIE!! My family and i went to see it at "The Bridge". Big leather seats, exspensive, but worth it. The movie was awesome. I didn't really agree with the mascara look |Johnny Depps charecter had goin...
|
This movie was an all around hit for me. I must admit that after seeing edward scissorhands as a child i've always had a sort of juvenille fear of johnny depp. i just couldnt get the creepy image of him in that movie out of my mind. but after seeing this movie i any fear i had of him is totally gone. he was so cute in the movie and i thought the eyeliner totally worked on him. i never thought i'd consider a man in makeup attractive but i guess if it works for girls, why can't it work for guys? after all it takes a very confident guy to dip into his girlfriend's cosmetics bag. and his drunken swagger was so hot.
|
I also had a small fear of Johnny Depp when I was a child....but I loved the movie so much I'm going to see it again tonight. yesssssssssss
|
Yeah I had noticed that he had a bit of a "swish" in the movie, but it didn't distract me from the cool parts of the movie....
He is like a Neo Pirate or something... |

Thanks. |
Just saw it tonight. it was a really awesome movie. Johnny Depp was really a great choice to be Sparrow. He had some awesome lines. I was kind of amazed that so much fighting made its way into a Disney movie. That movie had some really awesome special effects with Sparrow and Barbosa moving in and out of the moonlight, as well as the whole pirate army.
Oh, a little side note, at the end did anyone else thing Orlando Bloom looked remarkably like Leonardo Dicaprio? Cory |

Other than that, great. ... and I think it was 85% that it was from him. |
yeah my fault it was 85%...
|
OK gurls...I know that all of you who have seen this movie thought that Johnny and Orlando were totally on FiRe throughout the whole movie. My friends were talking about who is hotter in the movie and it was a tie (between the 4 of us...2 on each side), of who was hotter, Orlando or Johnny. So my question to you gurls is:
*At the end of the movie, would you have jumped to go with Johnny or would you have stayed with Orlando?* :) Lets see what FIRST gurls think...lol |
OMG! Jonny Is SOO! Dreamy... :sigh:

I would have to say go with Jack, but not just because he's hot. He's got the whole pirate, mystery thing going for him. Although if if I had lived in that time I would have probabley already been a pirate :).
