i have somthing to say, I dont think i w ant to say it yet tho

KenWittlief 07-10-2003 19:36

is this like a computer dating service

but instead of using a computer

you use a robot to match people up?

(a robot built by highschool students who stayed up 72 hours in a row living on pizza and jolt cola to get it finished in time?)

Cool!

Cool!

I just got the mental image of a bunch of robots playing Spin The Bottle. I must be seriously disturbed.

KenWittlief 07-10-2003 20:06

Im picturing something more like, on your first date you goto a pizza parlor

and 2 seconds after you walk in the door, your date runs into a stack of pizza boxes, knocking them all over the place

then turns 90° and runs into a plexiglass wall at 20mph

and falls over

and doesnt get up for 2 minutes!

while this is happening you run up the nearest flight of stairs, and stand on the landing, and if anyone else trys to use the stairs you knock them down.

a match made in heaven.

FotoPlasma 07-10-2003 20:20

Comedy gold!

That made my day so much better. Just rereading it makes me laugh... Very nice, sir.

A fast person can run about 16MPH, im Doubting twenty is a numbe to use here

KenWittlief 08-10-2003 07:43

If you run a 4 minute mile you are averaging 15mph - you can sprint much faster than that!

esp when you are highly motivated

WoW! Plexiglass!...Hey look at me - Im a hockey puck!......WHAM

Not really, if you read up. The last few posts were all related to Ken Wittlief's little joke. I'm sorry if we've distracted this topic from its incredibly important and vital mission. Does that really matter?

Yes. I agree. How could we have been so brash as to have had a little fun in a Chit-Chat thread about a dating service?

We'll all hang our heads in shame, now. Go about your business.

Isn't there a seperate Robotics Romance for the college mentors?

Most of us are at least familiar with each other... And I think it'd be a hoot to see who we're 'compatible' with.

Erin Rapacki and Jeff Waegelin?

David Kelly and Ashlee Snodgrass?

Ken Leung and Katie Reynolds?!

There is a huge demand for this. Even if only for fun. How 'bout it, guys?

Amanda, Amanda, Amanda.... Usually when I see my name mentioned on here, i get exicted but i dont know what to think this time... I didnt notice this until Clark brought it to my attention. #1, I'm like 4 times Ashlee's size
(:p seriously, I'm way more taller than she is) #2 I've already picked Libby Ritchie :D. The only thing in my way is her husband Scott ;)

But seriously, i see myself more compatable with students that are in FIRST or used to be in FIRST than any other group of people. 393 has the coolest people besides my team :D

HolyMasamune 22-10-2003 20:42

I would like to nominate my friends Jeffrey Tang and Yusuke Osada to this robotics romance program.

I must admit they're quite pathetic though. They can't build a robot, can't do any PR/Fundraising, can't program, knows a minimal amount of science and math, and can't speak English with coherent sentences.

However, I full-heartedly hope that they find dates here.

Hey, My name is Mandie Johnson, I am from Pocatello, ID. My team is the first team to do this for the state of Idaho. I just got this website today from Jason Morella; he came and talked to us about FIRST. It seems really cool and I am excited to have this opportunity to be a part of this competition. I just got done reading your message and it interested me. I was wonddering if there was anything possible...!!! Welll let me know

man guys, I mean I'm sort of taken, but I'll jump on the revive the thread bandwagon. If someone is really desperate it for a date, I'm already rather polyamorous, I mean, I'm married AND I have numerous out of state lovers. C'mon boys, join in the love, there's plenty of me to go around :P.

I didn't just say that...

EDIT: Meant as a joke!!! I coudln't have multiple dates if I tried! Urgh! Not enough time for them between DDR rounds.

i wondered how long this thread would stay dormant...wonder if the folks from 236 are still in the matchmaking business. the first classifieds (or some other reincarnation of them) seem to have joined the 'water-game' thread and the 'guess-next-years-game' thread as a regularly re-occurring CD.com phenomenon.

Or maybe some of us are continuously rejected by the opposate sex and have given up on the whole idea of finding someone else?

Quick question(s)...

- I'm assuming the people are going to be local?

- Will we be notified if there's no matches found by this high-tech ability ( :D )?
