Thanks for a great day!

Bash is always a fun event (heh, and now my team is addicted to off-seasons!)

Thankyou 716 and 195!!

Rosiebotboss 21-09-2003 12:31

I just want to publicly thank the following teams and people for a great event:

236 and 521- Matt, you and your team did an outstanding job.

236 (again) and 809- for coming to our rescue with motors. It was a character building day for Rosie and thanks for you help. We really appreciated it and I hope you know we will do the same for you if needed at future events.

To the Judges - I don't know who you were, but Team 839 thanks you for the Gracious Professionalism Award. I would like to know what we did to deserve the award the best exemplifies the FIRST spirit. In our eyes, we did not do anything special, just what we always do at an event, help out where we can to whoever we can, even in the face of our own troubles.

To the voters for Peoples Choice Award - Thank you for making Team 839 your second chioce. ( I will agree with you, I voted for the Techno Ticks also.)

And Finally - To Rosie Robotics, you folks make it happen. Whether in the pits or in the stands.

Representing the Spirit of FIRST

Dana – Thanks for the kind words. I agree, the 5th annual Bash@theBeach was a huge success, and it went so well for two reasons: First, the teams in attendance absolutely demonstrated that they understand both of the terms Gracious and Professional. Second, the volunteers from teams 236, 521, and the extra help from team 500, Team USA, did an outstanding job hosting this event.

Let me explain the Bash@theBeach Dominion Millstone Power Station- Gracious Professionalism Award. Chosen by a panel of judges, this award is awarded to the team that best demonstrates the understanding and good practices of the wonders of science, technology and engineering, while also demonstrating teamwork, spirit, and the thrill of competition. This award in short, goes to the team that best represents the spirit of FIRST.

This year’s panel of judges was made up of volunteers from the Dominion Millstone Power Station as well as some volunteers from local school districts’ Boards of Education. Here is what the judges had to say about the 5th annual Bash@theBeach Dominion Millstone Power Station – Gracious Professionalism Award winners, Team 839 – Rosie Robotics:
“This team mentored a rival school’s robotics team. They were there to help today for many teams when they needed help. They demonstrated teamwork, and technical ability with their bot, and demonstrated that they have spirit with their large orange crowd at the front of the field.”

I think that Dana posted exactly why they won the Bash@theBeach, Dominion Millstone Power Station – Gracious Professionalism Award when he said:
“we did…just what we always do at an event, help out where we can to whoever we can, even in the face of our own troubles.”

Congratulation to Team 839 – Rosie Robotics. Your team exemplifies the spirit of FIRST and is a model FIRST robotics team for the rest of us. Thanks for participating.
