Yeah a lot of them do. About 1/2 of the EMTs where i work do that. I work what is called a 4/12 schedule meaning I work 4, 12 hour days a week then have a 3 day weekend at the end of every week. That gives us more coverage during the times the most calls come in.

(The area my division covers includes the schools teams 259, 606, 687 and 1135 are from.)

Y'all better hope you never see Sean around there :D

So far this summer, I went on a really awesome weeklong cruise to Alaska from Seattle, gone to San Francisco a couple times, and Monterey. I might go camping for a weekend some time, but basically Im just hanging around :)

[edit] I know firefighters do the 3/24 thing as well [edit]

So many people liked the idea that I work at Radioshack. It is a cool place to work, I get to try out all the cool things and go to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and see the Sony robots and other cool electronic devices and stuff.

In case anyone is interested, my family owns a group of Radioshack stores, not the company Radioshack.

i went to england for a month to complete my grade 12 english credit (which is mandatory in ontario). i have to say the best decision i have ever made in my life was to go on that trip. i had so much fun, met so many new people, and would go back in a flash. some of the people i met are already involved in FIRST, and others will be next year. in england we stayed at imperial college in london for 10 days and then st edwards school in oxford for the last 18. i absolutely loved it and would go back in a flash if someone gave me the chance. i miss it so much because there was always something to do there and you were never bored.

I haven't done much except the trip to NH I took ALONE and the occasional birthday or graduation party!!

I'm so bored, no one ever wants to do anything!!

I went to a camp at the Air Force Academy. It was pretty cool. The campus was beautiful! Met a lot of new people but I must say the best part was seeing the fighter jets. Ahh, so awesome! They had an F-15, F-16, F-4, and F-105 and some other planes. Plus you have all the cadets...;) So that was neat, not somethin you get to do everyday.

hmmm... lets see what I can remember...
Not too much other than being a leader at Scout camp and going out to Sanfrancisco n' that area....
Other than that I've been writing my book, taking apart electronics and using the parts for various usless gagets, oh and I lit myself on fire last night :p
Fun but don't try it yourself...

I worked on a friend's riding lawn mower. It is a Cub Cadet 107 built in the 60's and has been sitting behind a barn for 12 years. My brother has been helping fix it and he worked on it one day a year for the past two years. We fixed the engine but when we tried to jump start it, we fried the alternator. Guess it will sit around 'till next year and then it will run and we will turbocharge it and add NOS.:D

let's see...
:D
-shadowed Dean's brother Doctor Bart Kamen for a day at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey and got to see a spinal tap performed (I plan on going into Pediatric Oncology...).
-went on a cruise to Grand Cayman and Cozumel and got to snorkel with a shark, eel, and sting rays.
-spent 10 days in San Francisco for the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine and got to visit tons of medical facilities and talk with lots of people in the field of medicine (plus get lots of hands on experience analyzing human organs, limbs, and cadavers).
-made a movie with one of my best friends for our other best friend for her birthday (to send to her while she was up at the Boston Ballet) that made all of our parents laugh hysterically for literally a half hour after they finished watching it.
-went up to New Hampshire, got inducted into the Hall of Fame, explored to Dean's mansion, and rode a Segway about 5 times... so much fun!

Overall, a great summer.

*cracks knuckles*

I work with kids...at a cub scout camp...the "best" camp in the nation...I teach 5-10 year olds how to shoot Daisy model 499b air gun...lets see, 5 days a week, we are on call from about 6:30am to about 10-11 at night... it is 9 weeks of...HELL...due to the fact that we get bad thunderstorms, and we are forced to squeeze into a dining hall with no airconditioners...and a bunch of screaming kids can give you quite a headache...

but...

The food is outstanding for camp food... and it is a good way to meet other staff members.

In sept. i Start school at NHTI, and will be frequently visiting my amazing girlfriend in PA...but first i need to get that elusive car...
