We just have some finishing touches on our robot. Everything is built but the electronics needs to be programed.

Wetzel 10-02-2002 18:48

We need to lose 25 lbs.

Let's Roll!

Team 811 finally pulled all systems together for the first time today, and while there is some tweeking to be done, and some artwork and exterior lexan to be snazzed up....all systems are GO!

We are about 2 lbs overweight....and that was after the crash diet we put ourselves on this past week.

We have a demo night at the local Mall in Nashua this Wed night....all the local Southern NH teams will be there "showing off".

We are a rookie team, and we are Psyched!

I hope to see some of you other Southern NH teams there!

Tonight we drove our robot for the first time. It was a beautiful, beautiful thing. The other subteams have yet to integrate their parts but for now, x-bot is looking good.

Amadkow 11-02-2002 00:11

my teams robot is up and running except for the gear shifters we still need to do the programming for them

Kris Verdeyen 11-02-2002 01:36

We finally got going this weekend - we have our goal grabbers (mean looking things) and our base up and running. Our theoretical top speed was going to be 13-14 fps, not sure what it is for real, because we don't have enough carpet to go that fast. :) We're out to the goals from a dead stop in under 2.5 seconds.

Only trouble - we're 25 pounds overweight.

It will be an interesting week, to say the least.

Jeff Waegelin 11-02-2002 07:17

We have our frame and grabbers built, and we have 90% of our gearbox parts in and ready, but we are still waiting for cylinders for our arms and a few gears for our box. They should get here today (hopefully).

Wednesday night at the Pheasant Lane Mall will feature Southern New Hampshire teams... and one Mass team from Tynsoboro! i can't wait to see what everyone has, It's going to be really cool driving pretty robots around the mall!

BTW - Merrimack team 166 finally got their bot moving last night! woohooo, those 36 1/2 hours I logged on the transmission over this weekend finally paid off!!!!!!!!!

"A Force to be Reckoned" is a copyrighted saying :) It is our motto for this year.
Take a look at the photos, in the picture gallery, of our robot systems. IMHO the goal grabbers are awesome :D

See you all at the regionals and nationals.

Wayne Doenges

BTW with everything on the bot we are 36 lbs overweight  So we are going modular.

Brian Savitt 11-02-2002 15:09

Doesnt every modular part that you want to use in competition have to be inspected and weighed in at 130lbs?

36 lbs is a lot to lose good luck!

Team 811 of BG in Nashua will be there. We are a rookie team, and we can't wait to meet up with some of the other great teams in the area.

I was an Engineering Team helper on Team 42 two years ago, and we have another Engineer who was on the Nypro team for about 9 years....but other than the two of us, everyone else is totally new to this.

BTW: We finally got all our robot subsystems bolted on and moving about yesterday (Sunday, 2/10/2002) and while they need a little tweeking, things look pretty good. :) (albeit 2 lbs overweight  )

So, I hope to see you at the Pheasant Lane Mall.

I think every possible combination of modules has to be weighed in at 130 lbs. Some on correct me if I'm wrong.

Eric

Wayne Doenges 11-02-2002 16:04

You are correct.
Every configuration has to be under 130 lbs. You don't load everything onto the robot and weigh it.

We need to lose 25 lbs.

check the thread about weight advice, my team had the same problem and this thread is full of good ways to take care of it
