1999 and 2000 Game Rules
Does anyone have any *.pdf's of the game rules from 1999 or 2000? I am having my students do some research on past games and FIRST does not have them on-line anymore (if they ever did?). If someone has them or know where to get them, I'd so appreciate it :) I have tried contacting FIRST, but am still awaiting a reply. :(

Have you tried www.waybackmachine.org? It will give you a list of a web sites page in all its different forms from the early 1990's into present. If the documents were ever online, I would imagine that youd find them there.

That worked great! |
Wow, its really interesting seeing how the FIRST website and documentation have changed over the years. I particularly find it amusing to see all the teams’ old numbers. I do have one question for those who may know, what was the white light cover(from when it was 1 vs. 1 vs. 1) like? I would imagine its just clear, but that seems kind of boring, and possibly confusing if the covers ever broke.

Lights were not part of robots until the 2000 game. The first year of alliances, 1999, teams were supposed to designate their color on their own with a red or blue sign, but it was difficult sometimes to tell who was on each alliance since no 2 teams used the same method. Lights were added in 2000 to standardize all the teams to use the same method to designate alliances.
