FIRST Catch Phrases
 

Hey all...
Our team is putting up a display thinger in our school, but I cannot think of any catch phrases for FIRST. Can I get some help??? The cornier the better.

Who Dat BBat?...
What Is Green?, What is mean?...
What time is it?...
OHM my!

Woohoo! I corrected Andy Baker! That'll never happen again...

and my team has a saying we got after an accident with the OI..

"OIs are not plug-n-play!"

Here are two of 818's dumber slogans, but I don't know if this is what you want.

-Robot: The Other White Meat - amazing what gets said during the rush to finish the robot, isn't it?
-Todd's on Robotics! - this one has a very long story attached to it, which I can't get into here. Unfortunately, Todd isn't on Robotics anymore...

I think he's looking for generic FIRST catch phrases, not ones that are team-specific.

Those are the only two FIRST slogans I remember off-hand

What about:

"Let's all go nuts! ROBOTS! ROBOTS!"

My teams slogan/motto we submitted to FIRST was.. "can't sleep... building robot" but that was prior to our school saying we can't have overnighters anymore. My personal favorite Woodie quote was from last years kickoff when they enabled the automode for the demo, nothing happened except one spun in circles and Woodie goes "I guess this is what they call autonomous chaos"

I don't know who said it, but it has stuck in my mind forever, and I have quoted it from time to time....

"DOWN WITH PANTS, UP WITH RANKINGS!"

A classic from the pre-short kickoff from woodies speaches was always emblazend in big red letters "Organized Chaos"

"It's a Robotics thing."

and one that's Animation speicific (cudos to Evan Anderson Decina to making this up a couple years ago... it's still awesome)

"Welcome to the Other Side of Robotics."

Ooh, I like the "It's a robotics thing" and the phrases Gadget posted.

Let me explain: Our team is having a rookie meeting to tell the new members what they're getting themselves into. Besides school announcements, we're using a display case in the school to put words and pictures that we thought described FIRST (everything from robotics to engineering to public relations!) and to notify students about the meeting.

We wanted to put some sort of catchphrase in with everything else just to stick in people's minds ... something like "FIRST - is it in you?" -- nice and kinda corny so people will remember it!
