60 minutes II - Video Footage Needed

I contacted 60 minutes II to get a copy of the updated segment they ran on August 28th.

But they are unable to sell copies of it, here is the response I received:

Also, it will not be aired again as we were only able to license it for 2 broadcasts; the last time was the second. Perhaps you and your class can get some information you can use from our website.

I would like to use this video footage for an engineering class that I am teaching this year, as well as our team.

If anyone has this on video tape, or even better if someone happened to capture it to MPEG or AVI, please contact me. I would like to arrange a copy of it. I'll pay for the tape and shipping.

If you're interested, I have a copy of the November 02 60 Minutes Interview and the (December 02?) Tech TV Big Thinkers interview. Don't have the August 03 one, though.

i know for a fact some of our engineers have a copy of the tape because our team was on it briefly. It's my proof that i hugged Dean :yikes: but you might want to try contacting randy weber at : rweber@tribune.com , he's one of our mentors and he might be able to help you out.

Was there a new one they made, or by 'updated' did you just mean they ran the 2002 one again?

correct, the 8/2003 episode was the second airing of the update.

As far as I could tell, the update just added information to the 11/2002 segment, they explained how the iBot was FDA approved, but other than that, all the interviews were the same.

Which was what I really wante dto show my students.

As for the iBot FDA info, MSNBC has a nice streaming video interview about the iBot.
