Kettering Kickoof Music Request

For anyone attending the Kettering Kickoff this weekend:
If you have any music you would like to hear at the Kettering Kickoff please post your suggestions along with as much information about the song as possible as this will make it easier to find(i.e. title, artist, genre, etc.) I am not handling the music myself but I will see that this gets to the appropriate person.
It is not guaranteed that any of these songs will be played, but we will try to play as many as possible. I am just looking for a list of songs to aquire.

Play Kettering's Theme Song!

:)

start your career, in your freshman year, doot doot doooo...

Out of curiosity...

How was playing the music going to be handled? I'm going to already have a LAN on site for the scoring system, and if you are going to be playing back directly from a computer, I cam provide you with a connection to the LAN and an open share to the server's collection of existing music. I'll see what I can do about building a complete list of everything that's on there, and then pass it along if you're interested...

I'd like to hear "I Hate Everything About You" and "Just Like You" by Three Days Grace....but I honestly doubt that FIRST would play those songs :( all well.

I'm not certain about the details, but Kettering's radio station, WKUS is going to DJ. I am just collecting requests to pass on to them. I will ask the person that is DJ'ing for more information and to see if he is interested.

Here's a few....

-Tommy Tutone - 867-5309...It's my FIRST theme song. Every time I hear it I think of robotics.
-BT - Somnambulist
-Brooklyn Bounce - Get Ready to Bounce (#20 on Jock Jams 4) Maybe first?
-Fatboy Slim - Going Out of My Head (#11, same CD)
-Freak Nasty - Da Dip
-MJ - Billie Jean
-Junior Senior - Move Your Feet
-Outkast - Hey Ya

And if Team 33 is in the finals could you play Hot in Herre by Nelly? People who were at Cleveland or Ypsialnti should know why. ;)

One more thing...Don't play the Jock Jam for the first song! At EVERY FIRST competition they play that first!

Coming from a fellow DJ :D

One note: I can't stand rap, so I won't advocate any of it. Now that that's out of the way...

No matter what, you'll need Queen. Definitely "We are the Champions," but "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites the Dust" could be useful too.

There's an IRI playlist in this thread:

Hope it helps.

[edit]Just thought of one more... "Keep Fishin'" by Weezer from their "Maladroit" cd. And maybe "Another Postcard" by the Barenaked Ladies, if you can find an MP3 of it somewhere...[/edit]

POD - Rock The Party

IMDWalrus 19-09-2003 16:21

One suggestion: for the last song of the day, play "Closing Time" by Semisonic. Much better than "Bye Bye Bye," which seems to be the FIRST standard.

I'd like to hear the Dave Matthews Band's "Crash" - it's been stuck in my head for days...

Play "We Like To Party" By The Vengaboys

But you have to play it REALLY loud so I can here it here in CT!!

:D :D :D

We must have Sponge Bob Square Pant's "Sweet Victory"

This is like the most insperational music ever made!

Actually, this is more of the IRI playlist. It's just a big list of songs with some of them being grouped by type.

Wow. It looks like I've gotten pretty close to the mark with my playlist choices. A few points:

Over my dead body will I play the Kettering Theme song. Bob Nichols (VP of Kettering) already asked me that question and I told him no too. Bad enough that I have it stuck in my head...

Will NOT play the Cha Cha Slide either. It's worn out its welcome.

Feel free to drop by our table and make a request, throw us swag, etc.

You guys might want to start this thread a little earlier next year, so I don't find out about it 8 hours before the Kickoff starts.

Good luck to everyone at the competition!
