The competition was rather intense especially the playoffs, I belive all four quarterfinals had to go to 3 rounds... We were scared going in our first round as the number 8 seed, facing the mighty team 25- (who i honestly believe is the best robot in the competition)..

Thanks for the compliment-

But as the results of the day showed- no single robot is invulnerable. Miss Daisy did a great job.

You know- it was actually quite relaxing to be able to sit and watch the finals for a change. But I don't want to make a habit of it.....

Two more weeks to Final Bin Bash. The Tikis are waiting.

WC;)

Great COMP!!!

Big "Thank Yous" go out to the organizers of the DUEL, 316 and 365! John Larock, Pam Halter, Alan Hinde, Bill Enslen and many more!!!! Another amazing COMP!

Hey Duel Players!!!

Don't forget to thank the 2 people from NASA that brought the field and worked all day, Mike Wade and Pete Baltzell (the men behind the controls). These comps don't happen without them.

You can email a thank you message to Mike and Pete at :

Congratulations to our opponents in the Finals, 222 and 1048. You were tough competitiors, always in the spirit of FIRST.

Thanks to our partner and good friend 1218 Chestnut Hill Academy. We finally got to play on the same team!!

See everyone at Ramp Riot on November 15th.

Ron, You did a great job and I hope we can get you next year too!

Thanks to 1048 for picking us we really could not have done anything without you and thanks for 316 for their valiant if not heroic efforts that eventually lead to their robots demise. thank you all event organizers and all volunteers we know what it takes to run an event and we are glad that other teams have taken on the challenge. Lastly thank you to all the teams that fought us tooth and nail for our stacks and for the ramp we love it when people fight as hard as possible during matches. You folks should have seen our arm after daisy was done with it man those were some intense finals. well See you all at bin bash and ramp riot. We have a title to defend.

I'd especially like ot thank the drivers of team 314 for giving us such great competition. You guys never backed down, no matter how hard we fought back. It really made for an intense set of finals. It was great playing against you guys.

Thanks to MOE and the Lunatecs for putting on a great event on Saturday, and that bird's eye camera was an awesome touch.

Also, thank's to Team 25 for choosing to alliance with us, even if our robots were quite battle-weary at the end :).

As our team's first off season event, it couldn't have been better!

Thanks again!

You need a red bull after a long day of switching between the SkyCam, the scoring laptop, the Wilkens Cam, The Jake Cam, and the MOE Cam. Working the video switch board with my good friend David O'Brien was definitely the coolest job imaginable. That Sky cam was great. The only thing that could have made it better was if the theme music from 2001: A Space Odyssey played whenever it moved (I was humming it at the control panel:D ).

In regards to Carl's and Brad's questions about the video of the event, I know almost every thing I put on the screen was recorded onto DVDs ( It was input #8 on the Brandywine Electronics beautiful $10,000 switchboard). We might be able make copies of the last DVD. I'll have to talk to some team leaders.

If you are doing this with the DVD dopying, I'd love to get a copy (and of course I'd pay). I'd like to know more about these different cams... how'd this SkyCam work... was it on a wire moving back and forth overhead? Where did you guys get all the funding for these camera systems, video boards, etc.... It's too bad it wasn't webcast... cause if it had been webcast it would have been awesome to see the output from this...
