Fundraiser Concert in NH for team 350

Hi all.

On November 8th at 7:30 the band Five O Clock Shadow will be performing at the new Timberlane Regional Performing Arts Center (next to the high school if you know where the high school is) in Plaistow NH. The concert is being sponsored by Team 350 so that we may actually get the $5000 we need to get into FIRST (for the first time since 2001).

Five O'Clock Shadow, an all-vocal modern rock band from Boston, is leading a growing pack of underground talent that's altering the face of contemporary vocal music. Taking advantage of technology previously used only by guitar and bass players, these five guys with turbo pipes are convincing even the most skeptical, die-hard rockers that music without instruments can still rock! You'll think you hear electric guitars, keyboards, electric bass and drums... but the only instruments in use are the band's widely dynamic voices - the band members are the instruments. One of them simultaneously performs vocal bass and drums with his mouth. And they do it all live, attracting thousands of fans and curious concertgoers a year. For more info on the band go to the website.

Tickets are $10 at the door, and go on sale at 6:00PM the night of the concert. If you are interested in coming email me at FOLEYMAN327@aol.com (put "concert" in the subject line) and I will send you directions on how to get here.

Hope you can come.
Thanks

It's awesome to see a FIRST team put on something like that as a fundraiser. It's a great idea for anybody with the time and motivation to set something up. If I were closer, I'd come just to support a team's endeavours. Unfortunately, I can only give you my written encouragement and congratulations. Good work!

Thanks. Hopefully it works out. If we dont get the money form the concert, we're dead again, as we would have no way of catching up to the $5000 in 3 weeks (since registration fee is due about 3-4 weeks after the concert). On the other hand, the concert has the potential to bring in around $9500, which would be awesome.

About how many people are you expecting?

Ryan Foley 05-11-2003 21:12

no idea how many will come.

we are hoping for at least 350 people, although so far we have only sold 50 tickets or so (we are selling themin advance to the locals, but tickets are available at the door), out of 950 seats available.

At what point do you break even and start making profit? How much did you put in to this to make it happen?

Ryan Foley 06-11-2003 13:00

we put about $3200 in to pay for it, so if 320 people come, we break even.
