Red Sox or Yankees?

ok guys whos gonna win the Sox/Yankees series?

we all know the Sox will!!

Ryan Dognaux 07-10-2003 16:56

I'm voting Red Sox just because a) I don't like the Yankees and b) They need to take a very long break from the spotlight of baseball. Maybe the Red Sox "curse" will be broken, which will be pretty cool :)

Michelle 236 07-10-2003 17:11

YANKEES ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!

Yan Wang 07-10-2003 17:49

I live in NY but used to live in Cleveland, where all I watched were the Indians and Braves. The Braves, unfortunately, screwed up this year.

I dislike the Yankees with utmost hatred (I know what I said is redundant), and I don't care about the Red Sox.

So, to respond, a 3rd choice should be added: "I don't care about either team winning."

D.J. Fluck 07-10-2003 17:58

Doesnt matter, Cubs will win in the end :D

Go Cubs!!

As much as I don't like the Yankees, they will be their opponent though...id like to see a Cubs/Sox matchup though

I have faith that the Boston clowns will choke.

Especially cuz I'm sick of seeing "Yankees Suck" everywhere... You silly Boston fans need to get over the fact that your team has no skill. ;)

Aaron Lussier 07-10-2003 21:23

Going to school in Boston, you have to be a sox fan or else you will get your butt kicked. Seriously, though I think the sox are gonna take it all let me just remind all of you that watched what happend after the game. This was a quarter final match up and over here I saw 6 cars get flipped, riot police, and tear gas. One of the guys on my floor climbed on top of an ambulance. Sorry for pull the thread off topic but I must remind all of you...

Well, this is the 100th World Series (or it will be once the Sox take out the Yanks). Wouldn't it be fitting for Boston to take the first WS, and the 100th? Aww, the hell with it: YANKEES SUCK!!! Them, and set-screws. :p

::sends a hurricane D.J.'s way just because, well, I can::

Jeff Waegelin 07-10-2003 22:13

The real question, is it who I WANT to win, or who WILL win? I'd like the Sox to win, because it would be cool to see them in the Series (especially against the Cubs) and I dislike the Yankees. Honestly, though, I think the Yanks have a better chance at winning. So, there's my split decision.

Yan Wang 09-10-2003 15:34

I forgot which magazine, but it asked, at the beginning of the season, wouldn't be cool if the Cubs and Red Soxs were in the World Series this year??

Kudos to whoever finds that magazine/article and links it here for me again.

Amanda Morrison 09-10-2003 15:55

The Cubs and the Red Sox are competing for the World Series spot, Arnold Schwarzenegger is the governor of California...

"Good morning Chicago, it's a beautiful 32 degrees in Hell!"

Greg Perkins 09-10-2003 17:53

COWBOY UP!!!

dude the sox are sooo gonna take the series!!!

COWBOY UP!!!!

D.J. Fluck 09-10-2003 23:52

I change my mind. I want to see the Yankees win the series so the Cubs can embarass them :D

Jon Reese 10-10-2003 13:19

to hell with those darn yankees!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate them i hate them i hate them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
i wanna see either the cubs ruin the hopes and dreams of the sox fans or for them to embarres those crappy yankees!
but im still mad at the cubs for ruining the astros playoff chances at the last second!!!!1:mad:

A. The Astros blew it themselves by losing to the Brewers not once, but twice lol

B. The city of Chicago has presented the city of Houston with a gift. The Billy Goat. I guess its just like the reverse of the Red Sox offering Babe Ruth as a gift to the city of New York.

Astros are cursed for 95 years now :D

Brian Yip 12-10-2003 02:24

Just like the Red Sux are humiliating them right now?

Guys I'm sorry... but eventually you're all just going to have to face the fact that you have inferior baseball teams. :D

Go New York! ;)

Inferior? Yah the Yanks may have won the World Series 26 times, but how many times did they blow the series? :p

Here is the scores of the Cubs Vs Yankees games in the last 50 years

Yankees 5, Cubs 3
WP: David Wells
LP: Carlos Zambrano

Cubs 5, Yankees 2
WP: Kerry Wood <- The Real Rocket :)
LP: Roger Clemens

Cubs 8, Yankees 7
WP: Mark Prior
LP: Andy Pettitte

Yah, the Yanks have only beaten the Cubs one time since 1938 ;)

Oh and this is before the addition of Simon, Ramirez, and Lofton...

AC3488 12-10-2003 17:02

SOX

COWBOY UP BABY!!!!

Pin Man 12-10-2003 18:19

My Thoughts...

You know I am a die hard sox fan... I came down to the cape from my bridgewater home just to watch game 3 with my cousin and uncle... I watched all that happened in the 4th inning and what happened in the 9th... I gotta tell you though... THE YANKEES ARE PUNKS!!! They had a 72 year old man charge a younger, stronger man and try to hit him but Pedro threw him on the ground trying to defend himself from the fat gerble running across the field... I mean the New York Post is calling Pedro "Crazy, out of control, and a punk" and all sorts of other things but you know that is bull... I mean the man is trying to defend himself from the fat gerble what did they expect Pedro to do? Cry to the umpire? God New Yorkers are sad thinking that...

On the other we had those commentators saying it was all our fault even though the Yankees started it... Kind of like how 2 Yankees in the Bull Pen beat up a grounds crew member... I HOPE HE SEWS THEM!!! The man has cleat marks all over him, a bad neck and all sorts of other injuries cause of those cowards...

I have to admit it is really sad to see people try to turn this on the sox... They did not start it but they will sure end it...

Isn't that the same team that has been under a curse because of a goat??

Adam Y. 13-10-2003 12:15

Yankees.
The cubs isn't that the team that has been cursed because of a goat?

JJG13 13-10-2003 15:54

Go Red Sox!

If (When) the Red Sox beat the Yankees I want the Marlins to win the national league penant so that parts of the world series will be down here in Florida! However, if the Yankees somehow pull of a win I want the Cubs to win.

Prehaps I am being overrly optomistic.

Christina 13-10-2003 18:23

You know, I'm not much of a baseball fan. I barely watch it. But, I am enough of a baseball fan to know that the Yankees rock and the Red Sox sux. Hehe. Anyway, I would actually like to see the Cubs win the World Series since the Yankees have won it a bunch of times and the Cubs, well, doesn't everyone like the Cubs? As long as the Yankees beat the Red Sox, I am a happy camper. :D

Yan Wang 13-10-2003 20:15

*sigh*

It was frustrating watching Pedro swearing at the entire Yankees bench. That wasn't necessary.

It also wasn't necessary for Zimmer to try to charge someone half his age... that moment, when Pedro threw Zimmer to the ground, was clearly self defense, but I guess the whole thing got outta hand.

Luckily, Zimmer gave an apology today:
http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/ne...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

DaBruteForceGuy 14-10-2003 14:40

GO Yanks n CUBS!!

>>> lol, yea that Zimmer thing was CRAZY!.... I have never seen the guy move more than to scratch his head or adjust his cap, forget about friggen charge the mound!!!

Zimmer, You got a alot of spunk kid, lotta spunk..>>>way to go old school

Ravi U 14-10-2003 21:48

When it comes to the playoffs I'm a Yankee's fan. Although I would really like to see Chicago and Boston go at it in the World Series. Two teams that want the championship very badly. If Chicago does make it to the big show, then I'll cheer for them this year. I remember watching the movie Rookie of the Year a long time ago, that's my reason for cheering for the Cubs.

Jon Reese 15-10-2003 13:15

pitchers got a big butt! pitchers got a big butt!
we want a pitcher not an underwear snitcher!!!!!!!!!

D.J. Fluck 15-10-2003 13:26

Heh Zimmer is a crazy old fool...

I saw a sign at the Cubs game last night that said "Next week Wood will kick Zimmer's <butt>" (alternate word used there)

generalbrando 15-10-2003 15:39

Well I'm practically from Chicago and now I'm in Boston doing the college thing. I'd love to see the two go at it. It'd be my new city vs. my old city. (Un)fortunately Boston's already won my heart and I hope all you Cubs fans are disappointed.

EddieMcD 15-10-2003 21:04

We're going to game 7... kinda like Cubs/Marlins... 3rd inning, Cubs down by 3. :p

Clark Gilbert 15-10-2003 21:22

Game 7

It was good to see the Sox win today, and I like how these series are going all the way to game 7 and no one is really "kicking any butt". This means we will have a great World Series this year.

Still rooting for the Red Sox here....

Wood belts a homer (haha..the pitcher), and ties it 3-3 in he 2nd :D

edit...another homerun as i posted this makes it 5-3

Harrison 15-10-2003 22:32

Hopefully it will be a Boston/Florida World Series.

(it's 7-5 Florida in the 7th right now)

Da SPAMinatress 15-10-2003 23:21

woo!! today has ben a great day! yay for Boston!
right now its the bottom of the 9th and the Cubs are down by 3.. and i hope it stays that way. go Marlins!

Quote:

Aaron Lussier 15-10-2003 23:32

Marlins win 9-6

Brian Yip 16-10-2003 01:35

I'm not a super baseball fan, but I would love to see a team from my state winning the world series.

so...

Red Sox! Red Sox! GO!! GO!! Red Sox!!

Ashley Weed 16-10-2003 07:38

Uggh! I can't wait for the Boston/NY series to end!!! No matter what I'm gonna have to hear about how horrible the game was, and how wonderful the game was!

... I guess that's the consequences when your roomates live near NY and are Yankees Fans, and your boyfriend lives in NH, and is a Sox fan! :p

Greg Perkins 16-10-2003 07:53

HOLY POO!!!

we definatly have an angel on our shoulders!!...and i have my angel ;) today is judgement day!

YANKKEEEES WOOOONNNNN!! And in the 11th too!! :) :) What a horrible defeat that must've been for the Red Sox :P

See, I don't like the Yankees and Red Sox, but it's just so much fun to spite Red Sox fans after coming SOO close to the World Series. That Marlins win did piss me off considerably though...

Greg Perkins 17-10-2003 18:39

you might wanna watch what you say "monsieur"...theres alot of redsox fans around new england that would like to "spite" seeing people who diss the sox get beat...next time keep the smart alec remarks to yourself buddy...ok?

Yan Wang 17-10-2003 20:34

Lol, I've watched, played, and discussed baseball my whole life. I understand what goes on - and after moving to New York, where obviously the Yankees are king, it is definitely impor tant to not piss off fans. However, I was annoyed by AngryDaisy's cocky post of a picture of Pedro and Zimmer - that's immature. Game 5 was not something great that happened in baseball and I'm sure that Pedro and Zimmer would not like to be known for it. I'm sure no team would like to have that in their history. :( Perhaps you understand now how Daisy's pics angered me as much as how much my intended-to-be-immature posts angered you. Nonetheless, don't ever try to threaten me 'slyly'.

Oh, on another note, what is this sentence supposed to mean:
"[people] that would like to "spite" seeing people who diss the sox get beat" :) :)

OneAngryDaisy 17-10-2003 21:30

Monseiur, I see your point, and i apologize... It was a attempt at humor that fell way short, and wasn't intended to be serious at all.. I would edit it, only I cannot edit after 1440 hours or something like that... I gotta admit that in the 10th inning I knew the game was over, nobody could beat Rivera at his best, and you guys have too much firepower... I was glad that Pedro didn't say anything when he finished too, even though he had so many people pointing and jeering at him..

Yan Wang 18-10-2003 16:24
