1023's website

Hey,
Last year was our Rookie year and we did'nt really have a website. This is our teams first true site. What do you guys think, any suggestions.

Thanks

Ooo wow very clean :)

I like the nice, clean-cut design and color scheme...

My only suggestion is to use another font besides Time New Roman. :)

Good job! :D

use css + tables.
you only used tables as far as I can see
use lighter colors- the color makes my eyes bleed.
use smaller borders. 1-2 pixels should be fine
from the source it looks like you did the base of it in dreamweaver so implementing all of this shouldn't be too hard...
good minimal use of flash.
use a different font.

Yah, I'd make the red borders less intense and less thick, it'll make reading much easier.

On the video page, (not sure if you have caught this), Dean is the founder of FIRST, not FRIST :)

Nice, glad to see your not on geocities anymore. I'm not sure about anyone else but the images seem to load kinda slow considering I'm on DSL... I believe this is because they are big images taht you just resize in code rather than actually resizing them. If you were to shrink the size of the images down in a graphics program it would greatly reduce the size and then all the 56k user of the world will stay happy. Lots of good content though! Have you guys started meeting yet? Any preseason things? get in touch with us (jefferson) and maybe we can do some preseason training or something together.

Thanks for the input guys. After looking the red was a little intense. I shrunk the border size to 2 pixels. Hopefully this is a little easier on the eyes. I actually coded it in trusty notepad, but "borrowed" the preload image code from from Dreamweaver. I don't know much about CSS i will have to read up on it. I ran the index picture through so compression maybe it will load faster. I think the reason it loads a little slow is because I'm hosting the site on an old Pentium 2 200 MHz.

Yeah we have started having meetings. we have them once a week. Right now we are just doing fund raising, but preseason practice sounds like a good idea.

I like the site...except for the color scheme. It's just too bright... I don't know how well it would work, but I'd consider making the blue lighter and the red more muted. I've attached a quick Photoshop color swap to help show what I mean.

Other than the colors...good job. :)

Well, personaly, i think the colors are fine. Classis red/white/blue. Also, the load speed is on the server end, low end P2, 200mghz. We're in the process of upgarding, but are in need of a new motherboard, or a new case, what ever comes first!

HFWang 24-10-2003 18:46

the red is really garish, you could probably tone down the brightness. :X
