Question about Plywood thickness
 

The additional parts rules state that we may either use 1/2" thick or 1/4" plywood for the robot.

Logically... I "could" glue together a piece of 1/2'' and 1/4'' to make a 3/4'' board.

This "glued" 3/4'' board would be the same as a purchased 3/4'' board wouldn't it? So working from that...is there anything stopping me from using a 3/4'' board?

If the additional hardware list says only 1/2" or 1/4" plywood, they mean it. Using purchased 3/4" plywood is illegal. Glue the 1/4" to the 1/2" and be done with it.

Would laminate be considered a fastener?

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but as has been stated many times, adhesives are considered fasteners and are therefore on the AHL in unlimited quantity.

The adhesive used to make a laminate is certainly a fastener. But the substrates, the things you are laminating, must be legal materials to start with.

SO to answer the original question. No you cannot use purchased 3/4" ply. However you may purchase 1/2" and 1/4" ply and bond them together with the adhesive of your choice to make 3/4" ply.

Though why you would want to is beyond me. 1/2" ply has always been good enough for us.
