External Spotlights
 

So you want a random ChiefDelphi.com spotlight to appear on your website? No problem... :)

Check out the bottom of the extras page for the code to do so. Just wrap that in some CSS or font tags or something, and it'll appear on your page with a random spotlight each time.

can you put a countdown to the kickoff at the top of delphi where the number of registered teams are, similar to our countdown at bottom of our web?

A Little Problem

I planned on using the script but had to take it off. Every now and then (fairly often) at random intervals when the page with this script is loaded the spotlight will not appear but a javascript error will. Any idea what's causing it. It does the same thing on www.bcrobotics.org (bottom of page) Try refreshing the page multiple times until it does it to you.

It's probably trying to print an invalid character. Maybe a newline or a quote or something. I'll have to look at it a bit later.

Speaking of the spotlight... where is it in Vb3?? Does it not exist yet.. or at all?? :ahh:

Tried to spotlight someone's comment and found a spotlight button wasn't there anymore...

All that stuff you are referring to was not part of the old vB. It was hacks Brandon made for it and implemented himself. He will have to do that again for vB3. This version on here is temporary. We will get back to the orange and gallery and extras and portal and all that stuff before January.

We will get back after Style is released. And vB3 was orignally announced to be released many moons ago. Jelsoft dosn't have the best release date acuratcy.

3/4 of the style was released at about 7pm tonight. They are keeping the final graphics until the actual Gold 3.0 release, I think. Either way, they are waiting a few hours until they give out the code.

It is under heavy load. There are constantly 500-600 users hitting refresh waiting for the code to appear. So, bear with it.

Once they release it, I'll install it. I'm really digging the new layout & whatnot. And don't worry -- theres still a Purple style. I know you all lub the purple as much as I do. :D
