Late Regional Entry's

Hey i don't wanna feel so alone here, but how many teams out there still don't have a regional to go to or feeling uncertain about attending a regional at all?:(

My teams going to Texas ummm still very unsure maybe Arizona or Southern California but those are full so well see what happens

If you still haven't sign up for a regional but know where You would sign up for, then which regional ?

which also leads me to wonder does anyone know the procedures involved when a regional full and teams still want (NEED) to compete in it

Thanks

Sign up, get on wait list, contact your FIRST Regional Director.

So Cal

there are 62 teams already sign up for the LA regional is it still possible?

Steve W 20-11-2003 20:33

Teams do sign up but later find that they can't come for one reason or another. If you really want to go, sign up, call the regional director, volunteer to help. Even if you end up not competing you will still have been there, met new people and had a great time.

Ummm we wanna go cuz were stationed only 5 miles away from the regional site and is the only place that the families of the team members could come and watch which makes it very important other than that i will be attenting the regional no matter what but id wanna be accompanied by a robot.. it just makes it better

Wait a second. You havent registered for a single competition yet!?!?!?! Registration opened over a month and a half ago, how come you didnt originally sign up for the LA regional?

Cory

One Word

MONEY!!! (still a incredible uncertainty)

Cory 21-11-2003 01:54

You dont need money to sign up, payment for the first regional isnt due until like december something...

SpaceOsc 21-11-2003 01:56

5th ... administrators involved woudlnt even dare register with out money (some situation getting in the way)

Team 433 is in a little different of a situation but I am wondering some of the same things about wait listing. We just found out today that we will have the funding to go to another regional and the deadline for registration happens to be tomorrow, as luck would have it. Unfortunately all the regionals relatively close by to our team are booked so we will have to choose from regionals that might possibly require travel by air, which might be too difficult for our team to handle.

I was wondering if it was possible to register for an open regional and wait to pay, and to go on the waitlist for another regional, say one a more reasonable distance from our team. Then if a spot becomes available to us nearby we could decide to register there and withdrawl from the far away regional. Can anyone tell me if this is a possibility? Thanks.

Very sorry to hear about your team's financial situation. We have often been in the situation where we register without any confirmation for money and fortunatly our mentors are ok with that. Maybe its wishfull thinking but you still have some time to convince your administrators to go ahead and register before it closes tomorrow. Good luck.
