Horizontal User Info? Wh-Wh-What?
 

The biggest visual change, besides an all-new layout, is the user info being between the posts.

Should we keep it like this, or go back to the vertical one with the info on the left.

It's easy to change, I'm not going to change it for a few days though, just to let people use it for a while, and see if they like it.

So .. Let me know. Vote. Etc.

I notice a lot of space on the horizontal bar. Those space is taking up a bunch of the vertical room of the page. But then again, the message width is wider... I suppose the amount of space you save with a horizontal will increase as the message length increase. But then again, a vertical side bar have a minimum amount of height as well.

All in all, new features just need to get used to.

The horizontal layout works very nice if you you go 100% Threaded mode.

The dropdown menus have only worked once for me. It's not working under any browser I use (Firebird, Mozilla, IE). And the spot where the thread tree should be in hybrid mode is a blank box. Any one else have this problem?

I like the horizontal user info, but only if I can get everything else to work.

I had problems too, initially.

Clear your cache & cookies and then try again.

Can we have a choice? I hate this layout, I prefer the vertical one more, since we can have user pics then, and we can't now unless we change the width.

Unfortunately we can't have both.
I'm thinking of a way to have horizontal & user pics.
If anybody has ideas, let me know. :)

Does the user picture necessarily have to show on the post? Sure it's the way it's been, but they could easily go under the down down menu when you click on the user name (a link).

How about move the user info on the right to the left under the user name, place that at the bottom, place the username and title on top. Then place the picture on the right.

I could make the Who-Am-I thumbnails the no higher than the allowed avatar size, and just put it next to the avatar. Wouldn't be a problem

I prefer the vertical mode. That big chunk of free space in the horizontal bar is just pointless. You can't fit the signature in there well and you can't take up the whole space with a Who-I-Am picture. I would suggest reverting back to vertical mode. For the average user with a 1024x768 screen, horizontal space saving just isn't noticeable with such a low res and average-length posts. Of course, I use a 1280x1024 at home and I don't mind too much for the moment. Top priority should be getting the old forum style back :)
