Nennius in the 9th century wrote a paragraph about the battles King Arthur fought. That is the first written story of King Arthur.

I will concede the Sir Geoffrey of Monmouth wrote the first book about King Arthur. If only Eddie was asking about the first book.. :p

Although one could argue I was asking for something with a title, in which case Coffee would be right. But alas, he too forgot to put it in the form of a question.
