NFL Playoffs

So they are set, my Packers are in thanks to the all time choke job by our good friends the Vikings and here is how it is going to be this weekend:

Wild Card Weekend-

Seahawks vs. Packers - GB
Dallas vs. Carolina - Dallas
Tennessee vs. Baltimore - Titans
Denver vs. indy - Denver

Watch out for those rolling Green Bay Packers, someone is watching out for them.

Re: NFL Playoffs

Lions > NFL

We don't loose - we just let the other team win!

GB wins
Carolina Wins
Baltimore Wins
and Indy Wins...

Lets see if my NFL skills are as mad as my NHL skills! :D

Indianapolis over Denver

Carolina/Dallas and Indianapolis/Denver are games I'm not very sure about.
I'm picking Dallas because of Bill Parcels and Indianapolis because of Peyton Manning.

Hey - that is totaly different. I am not able to be on every night thanks to my overnight job - and any free time that I do get - i spend it sleeping!!

BTW - I believe that I only lost ONE round in the NHL prediction for the playoffs - and that was for the Stanley Cup (I believe that that is the only thing that you got right)...:):p

Re: NFL Playoffs

So as of right now - i'm 3-1. Not a bad start. But now - what you readers really want to see - my predictions!

Panthers Vs. Rams - This one should be good. If the Panthers play like they did aginst the Cowboys - I don't really see a problem. The panthers had no penalities or turnovers - wow. If the Rams play like they did aginst the Lions - this is going to be a good upset special...

***Upset Special of the Week - Panthers 30 Rams 24***

Titans vs. New England - New England all the way. Titans are banged up. New England have won 12 straight. Titans have nothing on defence to stop the pass game that New England has. Plus - the Titans front line for defence will not be able to move the front line offence of New England.

***New England 31 - Titans 21***

Colts vs Cheifs - Manning is on a good streak - but he will be stopped by the cheif's front line. They won't get too many sacks - but they will make him run and make some hurried passes - causing some nice turnovers. Cheifs will win this one easliy.

***Colts 10 - Cheifs 34***

Green Bay vs. Eagles - The Eagles will not be able to stop the run that Green Bay has to offer. Plus with Farve being able to throw - the eagles won't know which one to stop. Green Bay should win this one with little sweat.

***Green Bay 24 - Eagles 14***

Are you people kidding me? We beat you without the best free safety in the NFL and two starting cornerbacks... and now we're without one starting cornerback, one starting linebacker, and out most dynamic running back- but hey, don't worry, we'll get Favre plenty of times..

That being said, I can assure you all a Eagles victory.. our robotics meeting today was full of eagles jerseys, sweatshirts, etc

should be a good game

Yes, the same team that beat the Colts (by 6 inches and some mis-management by the Colts). If the Patriots are confident about beating the Colts for the second time this year, they should call Denver and get some advice.

You mean the same Patty-Cakes that gave up 3 touchdowns to the Colts in a period of 8 minutes? Also aren't they the same team that could barely handle a gimpy Steve McNair?

Yeah I think the Patty-Cakes have hit the end of the rope. Manning is on fire, EJ is running like a Pro-Bowler, and they have 3 consistant scoring threats from a reciever (Stokley, Harrison, & Wayne).

The Patty-Cakes offense doesn't score that many points and they are getting ready to go up against the most aggressive and dangerous offense of the playoffs....

Colts over Patty-Cakes

Re: NFL Playoffs

hahaha Patty-cakes... that was almost good... That's what everyone said to us two years ago and I believe someone from new england won the supperbowl... oh yes it was the patriots... I mean not only have they had about 50 different starters in a year but they have the coaches that will out coach anyone and i mean anyone in the NFL... Yes the pats had a little trouble getting out of the Indy jam earlier in the year but a win is a win... Doesn't matter how it happens but its a win... They just layed back and thought it was over and the colts started to come back... I believe if the pats get by the afc they will take it all because I don't think the nfc right now has much too offer... The eagles are ok but if anyone i would watch for the pink panthers...

Denver thought a win was a win too, then they got spanked the next week :). Peyton is on fire and throwing the ball like a laser guided spear and with the recent addition of the touch down happy Stokley I'de be afraid.

Colts over Patty-Cakes!

I doubt it....its going to be just as cold and the ball is going to be as hard as a rock. Adam V. could barely kick a 46 yarder (which is still decent)..

Edit:

Another thing I just noticed.

Colts & Panthers are the 3 seed

Eagles and Patty-Cakes were the 1 seed (until they both lose this weekend)

It actually isn't going to be that cold. From what I heard on the News last night Partly Cloudy with temps in the mid 40's. MUCH better than last week's game.

DJ, who won that game?
I seem to remember a disgusted Manning throwing his helmet to the ground as he stalled out on the 1-yard line. Tough Luck.

The Patriots have been playing GREAT football all season. They are a hell of a team. Bellicheck ALWAYS comes up with something to pull out the win. And... like FIRST this season... that's all that matters.

I'm calling the Pats in overtime.

Re: NFL Playoffs

Yes the Patriots defense played a great game. Who would have figured they would have sacked the best quarterback in the NFL 4 times and pull off 4 interceptions. Both offenses were pretty pathetic today. BUT the true winner of todays game was the referees. Soo many missed calls for both sides. Fortunately for the Patriots when their defense started to choke, the refs were there to do the heimlich. There is no other word to describe the 2 pass interference calls in a row besides travesty. Yeah I know, I know...the Colts should have should have taken advantage of their time earlier, still the referees have been doing this for 20 some years and when they can't make a simple call like pass interference you have to wonder...

Referees complain about being insulted and called "blind" again this proves the harasser's point.

Just cause I live in New England it doesn't mean I even vaguely like or appreciate the Patriots because they screwed over my state just so Massachusettes would build them a new stadium, or fix up their old one, so;

Re: NFL Playoffs

Go Pats.

A Joke to share:
Obviously this isn't true. If it was -- how would you explain the RedSux?

John Madden was in Chicago to announce a football game one weekend when he noticed a special telephone near the Bears' bench. He asked a nearby player what it was used for and was told it was a hotline to God. John asked if he could use it. The player told him, "Sure, but it will cost you $100.00." John scratched his head, then thought, what the heck. I could use some help picking games. He pulled out his wallet and paid the $100.00. John's picks were perfect that week.

The next week, John was in Texas when he noticed that same kind of phone on the Cowboys' bench. He asked what the telephone was for and was told "It's a hotline to God, if you want to use it, it will cost you $500.00." Recalling last weekend, John pulled out his wallet and made the call. John's picks were perfect again that week!

The next weekend John was in New England at Gillette Stadium when he noticed the same kind of phone by the Patriots' bench. He asked Tom Brady, "Is that the hotline to God?" Tom said, "yes but it will cost you 50 cents". John looked incredulously at Tom and said, '"Wait a second, I just paid $100.00 in Chicago and $500.00 in Texas to use the same phone to God!" "Why does New England only charge 50 cents"? Tom looked at John and replied, "In New England, it's a local call."
