Bad situation, unfortunately *not judging you* sounds like a bad reason to join. I hope you still like robotics and what makes it bad is the ex.

Anyways, my thought is that girls come, girls go, but robots are once a year. If your girlfriend/boyfriend can't understand why you spend so much time on robotics and you've tried to explain it to them, then you're probably with the wrong person.

Maybe that's why I've been single since September...

Wetzel 06-02-2002 00:00

Luckily, my girlfriend spends just as much time at robotics as me!:D

Well said! I agree.

Here here adam. We need to write a general letter informing our better half about this situation. I can see it now FIRST support groups lead by Anton.

Being single is only as bad as you make it. My ex and I were apart quite often but when we were together we were inseperable. We just made time for us, and when we felt like including other people we did. Yes it was nice and now im single again. Oh, well I still know how to have fun, and not be stressed about trying to explain to a guy that i cant go somwhere on any night because I have to go play with power tools and and sexy metal.
Adam, bidding on you is still occurring, yes? Or did I already win?

AdamT 06-02-2002 02:29

Good question, I don't know if I am still for bid...what do you guys think?

Otherwise, I enjoy being single. There are it's times where I wouldn't mind a g/f. If a good opportunity came along, I'm sure I wouldn't turn it down.

And yes, I agree with you Carolyn. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. It just boils down to what I said before.

Engineer's girlfriend's also don't like it when you spend all your time with the robot team.
Fortunately, mine decided to become part of the team this year, so now she's happy about the robot team. I'm sure she'll be sad when it's over though.

Shhh! Don't tell them I'll be sad when it's over! Sheesh.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

How 'clumsy' is your robot? A steped on toe would be a much bigger deal with the robot than a human.
Never mind....I changed my mind on that, it wouldnt be as bad.
DANCE AWAY!:)

Well.. now I understand the Cookie reference... poor baby... Maybe I'll wear my purple tank top to the next robotics meeting just to make you feel better... haha Wetzel may not like that though... *winks* Cookie?

Actually, this worked out well for me. Although, when I first joined robotics, it wasn't because of a boyfriend, it was because of a group of friends. I went because I had nothing better to do one afternoon and they told me to go to the meeting with them (I had absolutely no interest in engineering). And then, I loved it, stayed with it, and now I'm an engineering major. I'm glad I joined just because of my friends...otherwise I wouldn't be here. :) It's just kinda scary to think that was my junior year.
