can you believe

I can't believe it, my girlfriend broke up with me today. She says that she does not even no me that well and says that it would be better if we see other people.

later some of my friends come up to me laughing at me. they told me that she really dumped me because i spend more time at robotics than i do with her, and she does not care that robotics will be over soon, she does not want to wait.

prtynpink5 05-02-2002 15:10

I will have to disagree with you on that one BIG TIME!! I do love robotics, but my girl always comes first. But what ever floats your boat man.

PATRIOTS BABY!!!!!!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT

David Kelly 05-02-2002 15:40

i've never had a g/f so robotics is all i know:)

Wetzel 05-02-2002 16:14

My last girlfriend was on the team, but she graduated and we went our seprate ways...
My current girlfriend is now on the team...
I think I got the best of both worlds.:D

COOKIE 05-02-2002 17:06

Well arn't you just spiffy.

Do you want a cookież

Jon Lawton 05-02-2002 19:12

Well

At least you found out that she wasn't too great of a girlfriend! Albeit the hard way... that sucks, man.

Drill motors are *SO* huggable. I'm not sure about those Chiaphua ones yet, though. They seem to have a 'tude behind 'em!

asher 05-02-2002 19:44

some people on my team were saying that i should go to prom with the robot. what do you think?

Clark Gilbert 05-02-2002 21:24

You'de have to be careful, so when u are dancing u dont run anyone over or smash them in the head with your robot's arm...lol

COOKIE 05-02-2002 21:54

All i want right now to cheer me up, is a picture of you dancing with your robot.

COOKIE 05-02-2002 22:07

Now wait just a min as I look over this thread i see that 2 posts have been taking out. Can i ask why you took out the posts. Because they were really funny.

Pamela 05-02-2002 22:09

Cookie, find yourself a nice FIRST chic to date and it wil be all good!

David, it would be the funniest thing ever if you brought your robot to the prom! I think you need to fid yourself a FIRST gal also...

Wetzel 05-02-2002 22:16

Hey, what about Ginni!!:D

COOKIE 05-02-2002 22:28

Bad situation, unfortunately *not judging you* sounds like a bad reason to join. I hope you still like robotics and what makes it bad is the ex.

Anyways, my thought is that girls come, girls go, but robots are once a year. If your girlfriend/boyfriend can't understand why you spend so much time on robotics and you've tried to explain it to them, then you're probably with the wrong person.

Maybe that's why I've been single since September...

Wetzel 06-02-2002 00:00

Luckily, my girlfriend spends just as much time at robotics as me!:D

Well said! I agree.

mnkysp6353 06-02-2002 01:41

Here here adam. We need to write a general letter informing our better half about this situation. I can see it now FIRST support groups lead by Anton.

Carolyn Duncan 06-02-2002 01:48

Being single is only as bad as you make it. My ex and I were apart quite often but when we were together we were inseperable. We just made time for us, and when we felt like including other people we did. Yes it was nice and now im single again. Oh, well I still know how to have fun, and not be stressed about trying to explain to a guy that i cant go somwhere on any night because I have to go play with power tools and and sexy metal.
Adam, bidding on you is still occurring, yes? Or did I already win?

AdamT 06-02-2002 02:29

Good question, I don't know if I am still for bid...what do you guys think?

Otherwise, I enjoy being single. There are it's times where I wouldn't mind a g/f. If a good opportunity came along, I'm sure I wouldn't turn it down.

And yes, I agree with you Carolyn. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. It just boils down to what I said before.

ECarlson 06-02-2002 10:30

Engineer's girlfriend's also don't like it when you spend all your time with the robot team.
Fortunately, mine decided to become part of the team this year, so now she's happy about the robot team. I'm sure she'll be sad when it's over though.

Shhh! Don't tell them I'll be sad when it's over! Sheesh.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

How 'clumsy' is your robot? A steped on toe would be a much bigger deal with the robot than a human.
Never mind....I changed my mind on that, it wouldnt be as bad.
DANCE AWAY!:)

Bondage 06-02-2002 17:36

Well.. now I understand the Cookie reference... poor baby... Maybe I'll wear my purple tank top to the next robotics meeting just to make you feel better... haha Wetzel may not like that though... *winks* Cookie?

Actually, this worked out well for me. Although, when I first joined robotics, it wasn't because of a boyfriend, it was because of a group of friends. I went because I had nothing better to do one afternoon and they told me to go to the meeting with them (I had absolutely no interest in engineering). And then, I loved it, stayed with it, and now I'm an engineering major. I'm glad I joined just because of my friends...otherwise I wouldn't be here. :) It's just kinda scary to think that was my junior year.

COOKIE 06-02-2002 18:22

yes do wear the purple tank top.;)

oh and MissInformation I think the quote is
"If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beat"

Wetzel 06-02-2002 18:29

She can't wear it cause it is cold and she would get sick.

And cookies can be crushed and used to make pies....

COOKIE 06-02-2002 18:48

You know she could just wear a coat to keep her warm.

and if you even think about crushing the cookies i will hurt you.

Wetzel 06-02-2002 18:53

I was just thinking of one cookie in particular...

COOKIE 06-02-2002 19:00

Oh you mean Oreo cookies, you know when you crush them up and make that mud pie thing in a cup with a gummy worm coming out.

Wetzel 06-02-2002 19:06

mmmmmmmmmm
mud pie and worms.........:p

COOKIE 06-02-2002 19:09

Hey should i make some and bring them in for everybody on Sat?

Wetzel 06-02-2002 19:12

Hell yes! Let me know if you want help.

COOKIE 06-02-2002 19:16

Yea i want help. After you drive me out to Dulles town center and i pick up an application, we can go to my house and make them.

Wetzel 06-02-2002 19:26

Yes, Brandon, we know this is a good use for the pm system. Also AIM. But this is more fun.
If there is a storage/bandwith/backup/some other issue here, let us know and we will cease.
