Yup, stay tuned to www.indianafirst.org for more info - Registration is in 4 days.

Also - if anyone is looking for places to go while in town - Castleton Square Shopping Center is roughly a few minutes away from Lawrence North H.S., and so is X-site - a lazer tag / arcade place. :]

you are correct. Registration for IRI2004 opens May 14 (see Chris Fultz's post #79 on page 6 of this thread).

Also, if you plan on volunteering at the IRI, you need to register. It isn't first come first serve...but you should register quickly so we can check everybody out.

Good luck to everyone who is registering for the IRI...an official information packet will be released soon that is VERY important to all teams.

Registration is open to any team. 2003 participants and Indiana teams are guaranteed a spot if the register the first day. After that, it is first in .

If by some crazy turn of events we don't have a DDR pad, there is a machine about 5 minutes down the road that could be good for a little detour after the matches of the day :]

How tough is it to get signed up? We have never attended an Off Season event and this one looks great!!

Just make sure you sign up ASAP right when registration opens - spots usually fill up fast.

Remember you've still got 2 days 17 hours and 46 minutes till IRI registration :]

It's never too early to start bribing the refs ;) I'll be back, working on the ref crew again this year, along with most of the crew from last year.

*Just kidding... we would never take bribes :p Well, not monetary...though we do take food, fisher-price motors, and Lilliputians (but only in small denominations).

If and body feels like it you can always bribe the field crew... It wont get you anything... but you can bribe them if you want :p

See you all at IRI!

Who should be responsible for registering one's team for IRI today. Does it have to be a mentor or can it be done by a student? Is there any particular information asked in the registration form that I would need to know (credit card number?) I ask just because our team mentor will be unable to register us today so a student will be doing instead. Thanks for your help.

Ricky Q. 14-05-2004 15:55

Re: 2004 IRI (Indiana Robotics Invitational)

Last year they sent an invoice for payment, no CC was needed, the person registering will be the one responsible for all contact with the IRI commitee so make sure they are on top of things.

Yeah. The website said '6PM Eastern Time'. I forgot, you guys have your own timezone, and that Eastern = Indiana Eastern.

Countdown fixed accordingly..

Re: 2004 IRI (Indiana Robotics Invitational)

From the IRI Event Manual:

"Round 5 is planned as a “TURNABOUT” match. Drivers and Human players
MUST be over 21 and cannot have been a high school student driver or human
player on a FIRST team."

I am dubbing this "The Anti-Kevin" rule :p ;) ....not that it matters since i'm not 21 yet and 1064 (sadly) won't be attending the IRI.

Still, way to go and dash my hopes of ever coming out of retirement!

Kev

P.S. You better believe I'm already registered to volunteer!

Re: 2004 IRI (Indiana Robotics Invitational)

If we dont pay by the 15th will we still be able to attend? I ask this because I noticed there is not a wait list and still 8 open spots.

I was also wondering how teams traveling quite a distance are getting their robot there. We were trying to hook up with 222 for a bus ride to IRI but this would leave us without a car to take Burnie in.

There is no waiting list, but we have to commit to food service, trophies, shirts, and other items for the tournament this week - these things are all funded from registration fees. Many have to be paid for before the event and without the registration $$ there is not enough cash to do that.

It is important to confirm which teams will be here, and the best way to do that is by the registration deadline.

If you have a problem with the 15th deadline, PM me and we can chat.

Special Awards Deadlines Approaching *******

Don't forget many of the special awards have deadlines for submittal of
June 30.

Details can be found in the main document or the two supplements.

The deadlines are critical to give the judges time to do their work!

Unforturnately this year we are not going to be able to have a webcast. We do plan on digitizing all the matches and getting them up online, however. So stay tuned for that.
