Is it true there is only 5 spots left for Nationals (besides the openings for chairman's winners, tech awards and regional winners)?

No not true. Space is set aside for winners of regionals and other awards that merit the invite to the championship. The real number is closer to 275.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, I saw that... I knew of coarse they would need space for the winners and such but I wasn't too sure on how many teams could get in...

I could have never imagined that there would be 5 spots left open for the Championship at this point in time. Anyone know why FIRST has not opened it up to everyone else (the rest of Tier 1) to fill those spots?
