Removing encryption from the pdf's

Before you all go crazy about me wanting to break the encryption on the rules before Saturday, that is not the point of my post. I merely want to know how to remove the encryption once FIRST gives us the password and I can open the files. I don't want to have to type the password every time I open the file. I know one solution is to re-download the files Saturday afternoon, but is there another way?

I'm pretty sure there is not another way.... like you said, FIRST will be posting non-encrypted versions on their website... as of noon (i think) on saturday.....

so just re-download and you'll be all set...

I assume the reason they did the encryption was so the representatives at kickoff could already have the files on their laptops or PDA's to view the rules at kickoff.. It also helps reduce the server load on saturday so there is not 20,000 people downloading the same file all at once.... although thats probably going to happen tonight :)

Yes ... it is very easy. Once you have the file open you go into the file menu under Document Security. Click on "Change Settings" and uncheck the box for "Password Required to Open Document". Then when you save it the password will no longer be required.

This would only work for Adobe Acrobat, not just the reader, right?

OOPS ... I didn't think of that since we have the full blown Adobe here at work ...

Yep ... you need the full version of Acrobat to perform any save function at all.

I ran into this problem when trying to fillout college application PDF's!
