121 is at the Days Inn which is less than .75 miles away (so a 15 min walk) to the omni, so ill be there w/ 5 port switch (hopefully) and GC (w/o double dash hopefully i can get my friends) and at least 2 controllers =D (will NOT have extra calbes, only mine, so try to get a cheap like 25-100 ft cable...

will also have 2 xbox controllers in case =D

Well I'm already doing this, I have 19 teams for Omni and 17 for Embassy suites and bunch of other random ones...I only have 59 out of about 261 so far, so help would be appreciated greatly right now. I do a little more each day, asking team members on ChiefDelphi.

Team 67, the HOT Team, will be staying at the Marriott Marquis. We're bringing the whole team, which is now up to between 40 and 50 students and over 10 mentors and engineers!
It sounds like a great hotel! I can't wait! :D

We just got the news on where 1403 is staying in Atlanta. We're going to be at the Marriot Marquis. Any other teams that are going to be there, be sure to bring your Xbox's, we'll be setting up another 16 player Halo match. (Don't forget games and controllers)

oh yea... i forgot to mention, Team 871 is having an "old school" video game party. Only pre-millenium systems allowed, lol. NES with DUCKHUNT!!!, Sega Genesis, and possibly SNES. Again, we're at the marriot residence inn, everyone is welcome to join in.

We also plan on bringing our X-boxs to get in on the Halo action, and a few GCN for MarioKart. I think we are bringing about 16 students. Hope to see you all there.

Mr. Enslen, you should have told me you didn't think they worked. I've still got my original Colecovision with the Atari add on and about 40 games. I've got the racing controls and the normal joystick type controls with keypad. If you really want to go oldschool, Coleco was amazing. Now if only I could find the power plug it originally came with.....and a few more games that seem to be missing.

What is this colecovision that many of you speak of? When was it made and what did it do without the atari add-on? I have both an atari 2600 and an atari 7800 and countless games...however, we had them packed up for a while and when we brought it back out it seemed that more than half the games were missing. I have never heard of this colecovision business though and would like some info. Thanks.

The colecovision was the gaming system Kenny had because he was too poor to get an okama gamesphere. Cartman: "Seriously, you better stop being so poor, or else I'm going to start hucking rocks at you."

ColecoVision was an early video game machine for the home, along with the various Atari machines. Home video games exploded in the early 1980's.

Halo Tourney at the Westin PeachTree, bring your controllors, and your Preperation H to sooth the pain after we kick you butt's. I know we will have at least 2 x-boxes, and probably at the very least 4-6 maybe even 8 controllors, depends on how much space I have left to pack it all. I will also be bringing networking supplies, with enough cat5 to hard wire the rooms, as long as your not too far..If anyone has a wirless adapter they could use with the x-box, perhaps I will bring a WAP. Details from the wonderful folks at the Embassy Suites Hotel - Centennial Park:

They are looking to put additional restaurant staff on early in the morning to accomodate all us FIRSTers so we can over to the Dome bright and early.

Breakfast will be served buffet-style with a variety of foods offered - cereal, pancakes, yogurt, grits and sausage were among the foods mentioned.

Internet access is available in each room but there is a charge - $9.95/day.

They welcome us to use their tables, chairs and sofas in the Atrium/lobby area, but since all rooms open onto it we have been asked to be courteous about keeping noise levels down.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Team 662 will also be bringing at least 2 Xboxes, 8 controllers, and I will personally be bringing lots (i.e., 200+ feet) of Cat5 and some network switches. ALSO, most hotels do NOT have RCA inputs, so be sure to bring RF modulators! You can purchase them to plug in specifically to your console of choice or you can get ones that take RCA inputs (these can be used w/ anything that has RCA inputs like video cameras, portable DVD players, gaming conoles, etc.). I'm not sure about having wireless, but I'll find out.

I will also be bringing a lot of cat5, but im also planning on crimping my own cables onsite so there isnt too much wasted cable.(depends on room, maybe i'll bring a few 50 feet cables and some couplers) We'll probably have all 8 controllors too. Needless to say, I think we will have enough network cable, switches, controllors, and Xboxes to pull off a good LAN game. If no one has a wireless adapter, I wont bring the WAP cause im tight on space as it is. Also, any game requests? I have tons of Xbox Games so feel free to request, and if I have it, i'll definatly bring it. I'm looking foward to turning the Westin into LAN game central.

lol, Broward county prides itself (we dont know why, we think its a bad thing...) on being the "third largest school distrcit in the country". I think there have been incidents mainly in Orlando of other schools in the county (and not robotics teams), getting injured in pools or whatnot. Broward County's so afriad of getting sued, that pretty much anytime there is a CHANCE of liability and injury, it's not allowed.

Prime example: We were testing out the new golf cart that our magnet coordinator bought on campus. Administration found out and almost had a heartattack, took the keys, and pretty much claimed the cart, yelling about the liability of a student driving a golf cart. Now we can't even take it up to competition. Keep in mind, those of us driving all have driver licenses. It's crazy around here.

That's going a bit "overboard" don't you think. By this age, if you can't swim, your old enough to know that you can't swim, and don't, although I think it would be hard to drown in a pool that’s probably no deeper than 5ft. I think they should bring there bathing suits and enjoy the warmer weather. I'm one to follow the rules, don't get me wrong, but I’m also one to stand up and say to the people in charge, "That is one stupid rule". ) Ok, I’m done rambling.

Not-so-subliminal note: Bring your bathing suits and enjoy the pool. (unless you can't swim)

They've done that before. You don't know how many times I've gotten the "YOU WANT TO USE POWER TOOLS!?" from administration. It's like "Did any of you take SHOP in high school??". I think its a downward trend of our society, everyone's so worried about liability and lawsuits we've lost sight of some of the real goals.

No GameCube Joe??? Awl... I'm bringing DreamCast with TestDrive 6, that's my fix, nothing is better in my opinion. Can't wait to see everyone there. I'm awful excited about meeting people. But the Omni is gonna be hot, I hear there are other teams staying there. I'm really looking foreward to meeting and hanging with other FIRSTers.

Also to the teams that are staying at the Hyatt I have found a really good site that tells you alot about the hotel. Even which floors have the best views of the city.
