Team Force Web Page
http://www.theforceteam.com
As I've said in the competitors page, it's still somewhat under development. That is to say, once the craziness dies down after the first week for the Strategy and Gaming subteam--which I'm on--I'll be working to get streaming video and a whole bunch of other stuff up, as well as constantly updating the downloads section and the like. That said...thoughts? Comments? Questions? --Petey |
Re: Team Force Web Page
Stupid PC's....showing stupid red color as too black and messing up the black lines around the blog and screwing with the CSS.
For Christ's sake, I'm using Camino 0.7 and this beta version seems to be more standards compliant than a longtime finalware product! Microsuck sucks. --Petey |
Re: Team Force Web Page
I like the layout. It kinda matches iTunes :P My only gripe is the content goes right to the edge of the container where everything else on the page has a bit of padding. Also, the text might look better justified. Nice work.

Re: Team Force Web Page
FIX THE COMMENTS PAGE! I WAS GOING TO WRITE YOU A COMMENT, BUT 2 THINGS, ALL THE TEXT IS RED ON A RED BACKGROUND AND THEN AFTER I WRITE A HUGE COMMENT, "HTTP FORBIDDEN". Enough all-caps. But come on, if you want my input don't make it impossible to give. On another note, what CMS are you using?

I'll fix that ASAP. There's an obvious confliction between the background of the page and the color of the links. I'm sorry that your comment got deleted. See, the comments run off http://theforceteam.com as opposed to http://www.theforceteam.com, and the guy who owns the domain just switched over DNS for http://theforceteam.com like yesterday, so I haven't gotten to fiddle with it much. Edit: Just fixed HTTP error--simple chmod problem. CSS will require some more work. Will get to it soon. I've going to bed now--midterms tomorrow--but I'll take a look at it ASAP. Thanks for letting me know, even if you were shouting ;) evulish: I know exactly what you mean, with the no cellpadding and all. Unfortunately, those cogs you see on the corner are two-part GIFS, and it's actually a fairly complicated table structure. I've been fooling around with it today to try to see if I could cellpad just the table that the text is in. Haven't had any luck yet, but I'll keep trying. Thanks guys, --Petey |
Re: Team Force Web Page
One thing to ask both of you--and anyone else who might check out the site--
See how on most of the pages, there is a thin black border line along the edge of the blogspace? Is that present on the homepage? Also, is the text on the homepage different then the text on the rest of the pages? It's all the same on my Mac at home on all of my browsers (Safari, Camino, IE Mac), but it seemed to be different at school on some of the Winblows machines there. Thanks, --Petey |
Re: Team Force Web Page
You could just stick a div around the content then use style="padding: 3px;"
Also, I'm on a Mac so I have the same browsers as you :) Looks all fine to me. |
Re: Team Force Web Page
well, you already seem to have a classid for the DIVs containing the text, so just go into your stylesheet (default.css if i'm reading your code right), find the entry for
Code:
.weblog {Code:
padding: 0px 3px;Code:
padding-left: 3px; padding-right: 3px; |
Re: Team Force Web Page
i grabbed the stylesheet off your site and tweaked it to fix the mentioned bugs. the complete code is posted below - you can just replace the contents of default.css with it - i've added comments to show you what changes I made.
Code:
a:visited { color: #790000; font-family: Verdana } |
Re: Team Force Web Page
thanks to evulish for the <div> thing and thanks to deltacoder for the CSS fix. I'll implement that ASAP.
Edit: Implemented. As you can see, the text on the comments is now legible. However, the links still weren't, so I ended up just changing the default link color to a nice orange, like our team's shirts. Quick fix for the time being. Oh, and the padding you put in the CSS didn't work. Again, I'm not a CSS freak, so I don't really know what went on there. I can try fooling with the HTML a bit, but now I'm going to bed. Brrrr...they canceled school around the state tomorrow because of cold weather. That's right, you heard me. Cold weather. silly new hampshire and it's -50 wind chills. --Petey |
Re: Team Force Web Page
I tried it and made it work. Although I couldn't exactly download the images, I don't see anything in this that would screw it up.
Right before you have all your 'weblogs' you have: <div align="left">. I changed it to: <div align="justify" style="padding: 5px;"> to make it look nicer, IMO. Obviously, the other way to do this is something like: Code:
.content_base { |
Re: Team Force Web Page
also, the padding i put in was for the weblog DIV class - one of the definitions of style for the various P tag classes may be overruling it, as quite a few of them have padding and/or margin attributes.
