What do you do?
I make a story board...then animate it in flash (just jpegs of story board elements) with just text instead of words to see if everything fits I show everyone then see wut they say then make a VERY rough animation then i make a list of models needed... est. time needed to make them and distribute it to peeps with enuff skill 2 make them... thats what i plan 2 do this year ne ways!!! :D |

three words: dry erase markers (and if that is two words...shut up :D)
we make a calendar with deadlines, write out possible themes/topics, pick one, draw rough storyboard, assign the projects and start. this usually takes a few days to a week. |
Re: What do you do to organize ur animation making process?
Well, since I am the only one on our team working on it (1st year for animation) I set up a 60-step list of what I need done. Everything from the models, to the SFX, to the rendering, to the editing, and down to the finallizing. I already drew up a storyboard over the off-season and started on some of the models (including our mascot GIP!).
To make modeling easier for me with GIP, i drew him out as well and scanned him into the computer and put it into 3dsmax. Then used spline modeling to make him.... You will see him at the 2004 St. Louis Regional! :ahh: |
Re: What do you do to organize ur animation making process?
We have two people working on the animation, using really basic shapes (like "This box is actually a robot") with no environment, a person working on textures, and everyone else working on designing/modeling the environment, so that (theoretically) we will be able to take the better models, put the better textures on them, and put them over the animation that we did with the boxes, and spend the rest of the time making the whole thing look better.
