Contuing on my problem
 

MY MPLAB, i think some of the software is missing so is there a internet dowload so i can find the dirver we really badly need it to program our robot FRC default thanks!

do you mean the code to transfer the SW to the RC?

NO my Labtop dosent have a serial port so i got a USB serial port connector and in order to dowload i need the driver but i dont know where the driver is on the MPLAB disk i need the MPLAB IDE driver and i dont know where to find it can you help???

I dont think an USB to serial port driver would be on the MPLAB disk, or on their website - one should have come with the USB/serial device, or information on how to find it on that companies website

all it does is make the USB port look like a serial port, then when you run MPLAB it will say "HEY! I see a serial port out there! want to use that one?"

no but when i download MPLAB and then the update it gives the instructions for dowloading a MPLAB driver to windows XP and well i cant find my driver i hjave XP i just dont hav ethe driver

Isn't the driver already installed?

I remember going through all the steps just fine when I installed it before.

Thats the problem i cant find it!!! could you send me step by step instructions????? detailed so i can get this and my team and i can dowload are FRC default code! and then if i have more problems you can guide me throught them!

You can open up MPLAB's directory (where you installed it to), and look for doc's. Sorry though, I can't really help you there, only did it once, and that was around Thanksgiving. Since then I haven't bothered w/ the USB port installation. You could also explore the CD though, and look for any files w/ the extension htm or html. Those are the files that gave the directions as to how to do it.
