Actually, not to be conceded or anything, but I am the animation team. I'm the only one on it. :)
As for what it is and what I used, it's supposed to be a industrial laser cutter, obviously they are much different in real life, but I want a simpler, more sleek look if you will. Tomorrow or so I'll show an animation of when it's working (I'm really lazy right now and I don't want to wait eight hours for it to render, that much refraction is very hard, even for my computer, to calculate quickly) Third party renderer I used is Brazil r/s 1.0. The only feature I used on it was the global illumination, there are actually scripts out there that can do it, but I didn't want to load it in. The materials are all defaults with some obvious fiddling. |

I thought it looked like a laser of some sort. It just didn't look like a realistic one. But other than that you did an excellent job my friend! :]
