Yes, yes indeed, you did say you have already read that particular link. I'm sure Mr. Kelly is very sorry for his redundancy.

However, that page clearly spells out the criteria that we are looking for, that the committee judges by, and even our purpose for running this award. I can see where something such as the Woodie Flowers Award would make you ponder what the winner would consist of, but this award is pretty straightforward.

Unsung - Someone that hasn't already been honored by an award to recognize their efforts.

FIRST - Someone that is involved in the FIRST program, not necessarily involved on the ChiefDelphi Forums.

Hero - Someone that you, the nominator, may look up to or admire. Someone whose achievements you would like to see recognized.

Thank you for wanting to participate in this award, but I believe that you may not be reading the 'about' page carefully. Please reread until you understand this award.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me instead of posting a needless response publicly.

I just read that also... i found a definition in the first line,

Quote:

The FIRST community oftentimes does not commend or appreciate many of the volunteer members for their actions, something that we felt was overlooked time and time again.

This is our way, and Chief Delphi's way, of saying thank you - thank you for all the work these individuals have done, and thank you for their commitment to this program. The dedication of people like the Unsung FIRST Heroes make FIRST what it is. They exude gracious professionalism, a great mental spirit, and the fortitude that make us all proud to be involved. They are an inspiration to this FIRST community and an excellent example. They are the Unsung FIRST Heroes.
Basically, someone that exemplifies the FIRST is about, but has not been formally recognized by FIRST.

Tom
