J&J - Hotels

We're having some trouble to find a nice and CHEAP hotel in Trenton or nearby. As usually we'd appreciate some help... :D

Gian-

the question is "how cheap?" There are some larger hotels a few miles up the road on Rt 1 in the Princeton area including a Ramada and Novotel. You can probably find them on line. But you will need ground transport from them in either case. There is also the Scanticon ($$$) in the same area- very nice but not a cheap place.

As far as I know there is only 1 hotel actually in Trenton, rather sad for a state capital. The hotel is the Marriott Lafayette Yard Conference Hotel.
Trenton Marriott

There are many hotels in Trenton and in the area - just do a google search. Where you stay depends if you have transportation or not, which I would recommend coming from where you are. Mass transit is virtually non-existent in that area of my great state. If you have wheels, you'll have a place to stay. google it and pick a name brand. I take it the recommended hotels are full?

Last year we rented two 15 place vans, as far as I know we're on our way to do the same thing this year. :)

We did google it, a lot. The question is: the rates are too high over the internet. For instance: we found rooms for 2 persons/room for U$ 109,00, and one person there in USA made a local research and found a MUCH better rate. So, thatīs the difference, LOCAL research always work better.
Another example: a mentor from team 007 made a research and found room for 7 people/room for U$ 109,00 (GREAT and BEST rate ever), a very nice hotel... Guess what? U$ 159,00 was the cost to make reservations over the internet.

The same thing happens in Brazil, so if you come to our country, Iīll be glad to do some research on rates for you guys.

First, some updates. Transportation issues: itīs not the main problem, last year we rented 15 passenger vans.

Hotels: we make a calculation of the cost per/person dividing the total per room by the number of persons in it. I.E U$ 73,00 / 4 persons = U$ 18,25. Thatīs our "measure" of how cheap the place is.

Now, we got one place in Princeton (13 miles from event), 7 persons/room for U$ 15,00/person (total U$ 109,00 per room). Thatīs cheap, for sure!

What we want to AVOID is those rooms that cost over U$ 30,00 per person -<- Those are the hotels recommended by FIRST.

Team 007 found a hotel 13 miles north of Trenton in Princeton, NJ. We have a bus so we didn't need to be near the Arena.
2 bedroom/2 bath/livingroom with sofabed/full kitchen/free laundry/free breakfast/24 hour convenience store for maximum of 7 people=$109 plus 6%tax. Restaurants nearby.
Staybridge Suites.
talk to Jasmine Curtis, the sales manager to get the deal.

Re: J&J - Hotels

Thereīre two brazillian teams staying in this hotel, ours (1156) and Tribotec Team (1382).

1156 has 20 members, 1382 has 30 members. I donīt know about them, but we have 8 persons who speak english well, and the rest can "handle" some conversation...
