Can anyone give general ideas of what they're doing? Specifacally, how do you plan to pick up the 20-30 small balls? (For other, please vote anyway)

Re: Small Ball Pickup Poll

My thought was take a series of rollers to a hopper then dump it (Know Rokenbok? http://www.rokenbok.com/catalog/pd_rcv_sweeper.html).

Re: Small Ball Pickup Poll

Well, the balls' Diameter is 13", the vaolume of the sphere is ~1150.3465 cube" (4/3*pi*r^3), the cube containing the ball (length=13") has a volume of 2197 cube". You find the volume of you container and divide by either number. The first will be high, the second will be low.

for all those people out there that voted for a plow, don't you forsee a small problem when your robot wants to turn/stop/whatever and the balls don't?

By 'hopper' do you mean you will pick them up like a tennis ball hopper? That's an interesting idea...
