Methods of Mounting LEDs

I starting looking at where and how to mount the new LEDs that came in the kit this year. I do not see a screw hole or mounting plate in the kit. We thought of soem double sided tape but I was wondering how the other teams are securing the LEDs to their robot.

We're probably going to use velcro, unless it's illegal.

Velcro is perfectly legal, as long as it doesn't interact with the carpet because the hooks would damage it.

Velcro is legal, but double stick tape is not. See <R14>

FIRST's Q&A page says that double-sided foam tape is legal:

Q: Are we allowed to use the double sided sticky foam to hold the lights more securely in place?
A: Yes.

one of the last team updates say double sided tape and sticky velcro tape are now ok to use anywhere on your bot

Just to agree with everyone else (:)), we used Velcro also.

We took of the lens covers and used the screw holes to screw them in. Then we zip tied the lens covers on because they kept falling off. Tied them a little too tight and they cracked.

ha, we put ours on the day before we shipped, slapped the velcro all around our central solenoid that sticks straight up and mounted those lights. Whole electronics team was rush to finish wiring. We did not have the pleasure of taking to time to put such things on. Just like Texan's quote, we get almost no time to wire.
