Teams already assigned divisions
 

I was looking on the team list for the Championship and some teams already have been assigned divisions. Does anyone now if this is for real?

Team 66 is the first team to have one so you'll have to scroll down a little

It is linked from FIRST so I think it is real.

Testing?
 

My guess is that someone is testing software making sure that whatever they have works. If you sort by division, you can see that each division has only 6 or 7 teams assigned to it.

On a totally new topic, did you see that Beatty is going to the Championships after all? They did not qualify via the points, so they must have been picked by the lottery.

I suppose they would have qualified during the season anyway, but either way, I am glad that Bill and Brian will be joining us in Atlanta.

I like that new software so that it makes it much simpler to see who you will be competing with. And it allows you to see what teams are going from your state too.

We are first on the list because.....were special...or maybe because we just made it off the waiting list TODAY!!! yaaaayyyyy

Wednesday evening FIRST sent out an email to the main contacts of the top 60 teams on the Championship Event wait list. All these teams were extended an offer to compete in Atlanta. Any team who registered via this route was assigned a division. Whether this assignment is firm or temporary has yet to be confirmed.

FIRST must have realized that there would be significant duplication between prequalified teams and teams who qualify during the current season. As a result they could have ended up with the situation where The Championship would be under capacity. By extending the early invitation, it allows teams plenty of time to arrange their finances and travel plans, to ensure their participation.

Looks like Joe Johnson was right, the divisions are no longer posted for this year yet.

They must have been just testing the software.
