You have a better than needed bladed ring. Good work. Without the sarcasm towards the comment.. Super neat. |
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
This machine is amazing. It could double for a work of art. You guys should hang it on the wall when the season is over.

Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
Are there any rules that says the robot must remain in one piece? If not, you could drive under the bar, push a weight off the robot, and float to the bar...or just make a small hook that is carried by a helium containing object to the pole and use a winch? Is helium a harmful element due to flamability?
|
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
Helium isn't flammable. In reality you would need a lot of helium to lift the robot.
|
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
ok, number 1: there are many rules that say you robot has to stay in one piece.
number two: helium isn't flammable. that being said, looks amazing |
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
NICE!
But have you tried climbing with it? It looks like you went with the big wheels(12 inch?) to climb the platform, and it looks like your driving with the 36 inch side forward. I'm assuming you're robot will be pretty bottom heavy as to not flip when hitting the platform... But I suppose going with the 36 inch side forward will increase ball control and reduce friction when turning...come to think of it, maybe we should have done that! Of coarse that's just speculation... Anyway, as I said before, NICE! |
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
How.in.the.earth?
did you guys machine that yourself? water jetted? it's just.. eh... so... pretty and perfect.. |
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
Water Cutter.

Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
DO you have that equipment in-shop or is it done elsewhere?
|
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
That is really really nice. BUT, if someone comes and rams into your fender bending it into the wheel, you are done for the match.
|
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
I got nothing to add
but wow that's intense are all the bearing holders and gear slots, (etc) for the wheels milled into that so that the whole drive train with all teh components is one solid peice?? Cuz that would be super cool. We have a mill but we suck at using it, we couldn't make anything that quality  :( |
Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
That looks amazing, im guessing you had it water-jetted, if not, very nice job on whoever machined it. The only think is that it looks heavy. How think are those plates?

Re: pic: 781 - Teaser1
:ahh: :ahh: WOW :ahh: :ahh:
That is incrediable! |
