Wiring Motors

Which of the wires on the Drill Motors is the positive and which is negative, if there is a difference?

Someone said a few days ago that if you look really closely you can see a + by one of the leads. The difference is that it runs faster in "forward" than in "reverse" because the motor has advanced timing.
