XRaVeNX 14-02-2002 01:03

Oh ah! Forgot... there are some videos in there too....

I'll be posting MORE pictures tomorrow (Feb 14)

That's cuz those pictures are actually old. We have our robot working and running around now. I'll get some pictures and videos of that.

Hang tight!

nice!!

Congrats!!

One question, what is the purpose of the wedge-shaped mechanism on the back?

XRaVeNX 14-02-2002 14:15

what are most wedges used for? hehehhee

:D

Hey, does Woburn have any pictures of their robot on their site yet? I wanna see :)

Ken Leung 14-02-2002 14:44

I am just going to take a wild guess, and say that the wedge is used to push other robot, thus gaining traction on your robot and reducing traction on the opponent robot.

Of course I am save to assume that this wedge won't be used to tip other robots on their sides, right?

XRaVeNX 14-02-2002 14:57

of course not. That's not the purpose of the mechanism. It's purpose isn't to disable and destroy another robot.... if you want that... go to RobotWars :D

heehee

How's everyone else's robot doing?

Justin 188 14-02-2002 18:59

Pictures are coming soon :D

About the wedge... is it used as a robot lengthener?

XRaVeNX 14-02-2002 19:52

Well, we're about 90-95% finished building it. We're still working out the details and fine turning it.

We haven't really discuessed into detail the game plans and strategies yet.... so can't say.

Joseph F 14-02-2002 20:36

in one of the videos it looked like the robot grabbed onto the goal by pushing inward on 2 of the casters. Did you actually design it to grab casters???

XRaVeNX 14-02-2002 20:40

oh no. They arn't grabbing the castors....lol
That would be very hard and against the rules. Cuz u arn't allowed to have anything that goes under the goal's bottom.

The only way allowed to grab the goal is the metal pipes.... and that's what we used.

Joseph F 14-02-2002 21:34

I knew it wasn't allowed. thats why I was surprised when I watched the video. I just wanted to make sure that what I thought I saw wasn't what was actually there

Ken Leung 16-02-2002 02:29

saw the video from another thread

I just watch the video clip in another thread, and I was surprised at what the wedge shape on your robot actually do... It went under another robot, and pulled it away... At least I think that's what I saw.

I guess there got to be some teams that will be dragging other robots around... :(

No pics on the site quite yet as Justin said (we're going to release the robot slowly), but there are three pics of our patented gearbox under the thread entitled 'HexaDrive.'

By the way...that wedge is looking pretty dangerous. We may have to use the cannon on you...

Tsunami Wong 16-02-2002 18:27

Gear Box count as a pic?

Our Triple motor gear box is up on the gallery of chief delphi.. so.. go check it out.. ^.^..
Woburn introducing our 6 Motor Drive.. Thanx Ian

XRaVeNX 16-02-2002 23:24

ooo.... 6 motor drive system.... problem is that although u have all that power, do u have enough traction? Cuz power without traction is useless, the wheels just spin. But I saw a picture of u're wheels.... looks impressive....

And what is the cannon? *background thunder noise* AHHHH!! /me runs and hides... lol
