Re: 3D Model Showcase
Yea, I realized that too, on my Max6 (which I got from FIRST) that educational thing doesn't pop up either, I thought they just disabled it or something....Perhaps someone else knows more on this?

Wow.. I am very impressed with all the 3D Models you all have done!
Now, let me throw my inclusion in here. I did the modeling in Cadkey and rendering In SolidWorks (I think). But it came out ok, for a required rendering for my class! |

Re: 3D Model Showcase
I finally uploaded a small animation that I did in September 2003 for a Latin project based on the Pharos Lighthouse. I had only one week to make the lighthouse, render, and edit the whole video together. So needless to say, this isn't my best work. Hell, i didn't even make the envioment, those who installed the Max5 sample files might reconginze the scene, its the file named "island". Since i didn't have time to put togther a whole envioment, I just modeled the lighthouse and put it into the scene.
5.4mb, WMV format http://24.107.46.133/pictures/robotics/lighthouse.WMV My latin teacher was so impressed by it, he gave me a two month heads-up for our next project, and I am now currently working on modeling the Roman Colisseum. It will have crowds, gladiators, and emporers giving the thumbs up or down. Plus some cross sections and diagrams. I might start a new topic soon updating you guys on that.... |
Re: 3D Model Showcase
This is the first test render of my colliseum, I haven't put any entrances, people, or statues in this one. It was done using the lofting method I mentioned up above and rendered with an IES Sun and IES Sky, took about 15 min with high-sampling and 1152x864 image. Here is a link to the image.

Re: 3D Model Showcase
Hey yall, wicked models. I'm in the shiny phase right now, shiny blocks just intrigue me :). Anyways, I've been looking forever for either some high quality photos or some blueprints of common objects, does anyone know where I can get these? (Yes, aside from like a pencil which I can measure). Especially a car, I've been making a fake truck and it looks pretty cool but I'm really looking to hone in my skills before I begin on next years animation. Anyways yall, keep up the good work.
