Re: pic: Wildstang Playing Field
we have heard enough about that this season already, from T3 controls to this now. Let's leave these comments in our own minds please. Theres nothing to say that wildstang's team did not work as hard as any other FIRST team in the world. Remember what Dean Kamen keeps repeating, this was never meant to be fair.
If you have the resources to accomplish something, then by all means use them. Its not up to anyone anywhere to decide who warrants having x amount of money spent on them. btw, i love the couch and seminar area to the back! makes great seating for sponsorship/media days! lol Quote:

I'm voting on either A: Squid B: Lobster C: Shrimp And I choose al of the above. This is probably the first pic i seen of a 100% full size playing field that a team has put together other then at a team organized event. Good Job guys and much success Too lazy to type a new post so i'll edit this one This should go under Mikes post as #17 or something close to that lol Cool its still the best 100% full field built for both practice and an event. :D |

Re: pic: Wildstang Playing Field
Wow! Beautiful! Only if 384 had that much room >_<
I hope you guys are going to have a off-season competition! We might just have to make a trip up to IL to meet up with our good buddies at 111, eh? ;) |
Breaking the 11th commandment*...
Can I come play at your house?
I am officially green with envy. Beautiful facilities. Joe J. *"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's practice field" ;-) |
Re: pic: Wildstang Playing Field
Great playing field guys. One question; Your pipes are amazingly straight, how'd you do it? The pipes on our full sized playing field are wobbly, crooked and bent. After only a couple of days of human player practice the pipe was horribly out of shape.

Those are the pipes I was refering to. We anchored them the same way you specified. We could not find a drill bit that matched the OD (.=1.9") of the PVC. Instead we used at 1.875" bit, and sanded down the bottom section of the pipe to ensure a flush fit. Combine this with the problem of not having our top and bottom holes exactly in line, it can be seen why our pipes aren't straight and tend to wobble. As for the bends in the pipe, this I'm a bit more concerned about. It did not take many human player shots to bend the PVC out of shape. |
