Scouting

What aspects of the robot and the team are other teams scouting? I am wondering because i am almost finished with our scouting system and i would like to incorporate anything else useful that i havent thought of.

I attached our pit and round scouting sheets. I suppose you could modify them or borrow ideas from them if you like. They are pretty accurate in terms of what information you could possibly gather. Did I miss anything? ;) Enjoy.

EDIT: The yellow box at the top right of the Pit Scouting sheet is for the Team #.

Can a robot defend the bar? Can they cap and uncap while hanging?

I like them...but....with how you have the match sheet setup, it assumes that you're filling out one per team per match...so in theory, to get a complete report you will have to have 4 sheets of that match. That can get rather backlogged come data mining time.

Sorry if this doesnt make much sense, Im extremely sleepy

It makes perfect sense, but we figure that in order to get a complete analysis of the team's performane where it counts (on the field), one per team per match is necessary. We could squish it down to fit 2 teams on a sheet, or even 4, but I like the system the way it works. Ideally, we'd have enough people to interview teams after a match and inquire as to how well their alliance partner cooperated, but that'd get things messy, too. The last addition to the round scouting sheets is a map of the field on the back of each sheet so that the team's autonomous route can be traced for further detail. Again, feel free to use them, modify them, borrow from them, etc, etc.

Good. And honestly, it's what works for you and your strategy team that will be the best thing for you in the long run. If you can't make sense of your own sheet, then you need to make a new sheet.

Good luck, I'll be there on Sat visiting 237, so come stop by!

We have the same way of scouting as you do.

We also have scouting alliances with other teams, this way we can "check" to see how accurate our information is, and they can check how accurate theirs is. We still scout out every team though.
