Team 237's robot climb up the first step partially, enough to hit 25 and make them tip and fall ( This was proboly becasue of the wieght distribution of the robot at the time ). The 2x ball did not play a factor in it and was pushed away when 103 hung. The link below shows 237 patially on the frist platform, 25 on the ground, and the 2x ball 10 feet away.

These three matches (1 vs. 8) were awesome to watch. Two great alliances with lots of action on the platform and bar and 303 doing it's hoover act on the floor.

Exciting?
Well, yeah, but Rich, it was also very intense, I could tell by the death grip I was in from you because of the suspense...lol.
Anyway, it was great, and congrats to the rookie drive team, you guys did great for your first time out.

They were not vikings, they were The Power Cords with a cool chariot carrying their robot named Maximus, Team 869 from Middlesex HS in Middlesex NJ.

That much I do remember.. lol yeah right, I got it from the program book!!
But I am almost positive that they were the ones with the gold "wigs" and they won the spirit award.

I am positive that the Power Cord did not win the spirit award. I think they won the imagery award. The team that won the Team Spirit where sitting behind us, and Power cord was never behind us...

Re: New Jersey Regional Status

I've been having some flashbacks of the New Jersey regional lately...just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to every single team there!!! I was impressed not only by the quality of the machines but by the enthusiasm and energy present during the entire competition! It felt like Super Bowl or World Cup or something! I as a human player was already excited throughout the games but just being in such a positive environment really got the adrenaline rush going. I can't even begin to say how much fun I had and can't wait til build season again . . .

Once again, congrats to teams 303, 56, 237...and thanks to the NJ regional staff, refs, parents, volunteers, and to all teams that contributed in helping our team (Tribotec, 1382) and in maintaining the FIRST spirit!!!!

 hey, where's my old buddy from Gizmoe???? I need a HUG! *LoL*
