Is PBasic enough or not
Hi everyone,
I have a programing question based on the tread I posted in the technical discussion section (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...5&page=1&pp=15) Basically we have a line following robot that recognizes people through the use of IR sensors, detects markers on the walls and plays audio tracks. We were planning to use our old Robot controller, but I though PBasic, and the slow speed of last year's RC might not be enough. What do you guys think, should we buy a new RC for the project, with C programming, or we can do it in PBasic? Is spending $1000 on a whole new control system worth it? |

What about security guards? Or misc. persons who don't care? The OI in a wall would be good. I would go w/C '04, personally |
Re: Is PBasic enough or not
Older controllers and PBasic should be sufficent for your needs. You have no real use for the increased horsepower of the PIC.
The old controller limits you to 38Hz, but for your purposes that's more than enough, since you're not running the robot at high speed. You won't overshoot the line. Your program will be polling based rather than interrupt based. |
