Protecting the Bar
 

I was wondering if any teams found any robots at any other regionals that can protect other robots from hanging on the bar? And if so, how do they protect them from hanging? Our team was at the NH regional, and we were the only team who seemed to be designed to protect the bar. Any others?

Yea, that was our original design, but then we decided to make it simple, and just get there before people and not worry about them protecting the bar against us. To protect the bar, we have 3 foot lexan guards that are placed over the bar. They look like the symbol Pi. The bar rests in the bottom, and the lexan lays a flat piece on top of the bar about a foot in width. Other team's hooks hit the piece of lexan, which rotates as they grasp onto it. Therefore, they cannot grasp the bar due to our SODS (shields of doom)
