Ball Corral Lip

http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pi...gle&picid=6844

I just looked at the above photo and have finally realized what this 'lip' on the ball corral was... How much harder was it for balls to roll in with that lip on the front? Or is that something else?

Seems odd that it was not in the diagrams of the field as provided by FIRST.

if you get the balls rolling fast enough, it doesn't matter. its really there so that the balls that are already in the corral don't roll out.

The lip is about 1/2 inch tall, so no worrys mate. But I doubt you'll get any stray balls from the ball dump in there. IMHO, it requires slightly more to get the balls in. This lip caused more bots to get penalties since they had to push the balls into the corral, not just roll them in.

Some balls rolled in randomly. Once they get some speed they usually go in. Make sure no part of your bot goes into the corral. The ref's warned teams every match about it. one robot actually got an entire arm inside the corral and lifted it up. The arm was as high as the control boards! 10 points off hurts.

As high as the control boards? That sounds really dangerous. I'm suprised the robot wasn't disabled.
