tank traction vs. speed
which was more popular? (Or a combo like we did)
Ours is well, different, very different not a combo or a 4X4
ours is fairly unique as well but we have an all out combo
I dont have pics but ours is a 2 wheel drive fast and a lowering 2 wheel drive slow or the simple format "a poor mans trany"
steve!! go and get off the computer now!! don't give away or "Special Secret". :D come on, i want to see the look on everyone's dace when we deploy the "Special Secret". although, i guess you weren't there when we pushed bob down the hallway, so you didn't see how amazing it is....

We have our own machined wheels covered in tread...works pretty good too:D
2 wheel direct drive
a 2 wheel direct drive is what we used with tires pretty much, it works great in most situations (i think all personally)

Well I considered this a poor man trany. Well did everyone hear about VanCor Transmission? If so we had the inventor come done to our shop and pitch it to put in our robot. One problem no reverse!!!!
Ours is a tread that has two moveable casters attached to the back end, which can lower to give us extra maneuverability.

You want wheels??

You want awesome machined wheels?? Wait till you see the ones on our robot. Make sure to look for 151. Thanks to a few of the members on our team who stayed after school for weeks to work on these beauties. Made out of 6" stock aluminum, milled to a beautiful resinance. Awesome non-slipping tread, actually part of the wheel, and no carpet damage! :) These work wonderfully! Estimated cost if we had them machined by someone else: $3500. Estimated potential labor costs: $1000. The look on all of your faces when you see our wheels: Priceless. Thank you Tyler, Tim, Aaron, Chris, Chris, and anyone else i may have forgotten! |
