Midwest Regional

Now that the Wisconsin teams have finished their invasion of St. Louis we are on to Evanston, where they might actually know how to pronounce 'Oconomowoc.' Look out for Cooney tailgating behind the big Lamers bus on Friday and Saturday, the dancing raccoon, the annoying noisemaker, and so much more. 2 weeks better come fast, its going to be a blast!

I'm with you! Midwest is sure to be even a MORE competitive regional then Great Lakes now that all the bugs are worked out and strategies have been thought of! Look for the Huskies in full camo's chillin' with the Kats and Chickens and Monkey's (oh my!) :D

How did your dancing raccoon like my hug?
I'm from team 931, the guy with the green bow tie, the alliance captain that was hugging all the mascots
I think my dad was talking to your team from oconomowoc about the 4130, or "Special Aircraft Steel" as your team called it, and we wanna know why you TiG welded it and not gas, i mean, gas works better, stronger, more effective welds for 4130. It's what we use when building our aircraft

Anyway

We were happy to have you in St. Louis, we'll see ya again in Chicago
Good Luck

Midwest is going to be THE powerhouse regional. It will be interesting to say the least, who knows who will come out on top, but I do know this will be a great regional with great teams. It's crazy to think that the regional starts next week :ahh:

On the 4130 that we used, there is a combination of TiG and gas welds, mostly because of the resources that we had avalible when we needed welding done. The base of the frame was TiG welded at our sponsor's shop where it came into, and the rest was gas welded at OHS, there was no particular reason. It is strong though, on Thursday we were testing auton in the back where the carpet was, and it went the wrong way full speed into one of the arenas concrete support pillars, not a scratch ;)

We are really lucky to be able to attend the Midwest Regional. It is hands down the BEST regional out there. Gonna have some crashin music. I'd like to congratulate team 383 for winning the General Motors Industrial Design Award..

It's funny... 'cos the robots from 383 and 1382 are so look-a-like, and 1382 didn't win... just a thought...
