Team 255 in the box!
http://explorer.arc.nasa.gov/Robotics/FIRST2002/ff.ram
(2 short real media clips) Our robot, following the KISS philosophy which has delivered the 2000 FIRST National Championship, and the 2001 Botball National Championship, has continued the traditon to this year design. Our robot is a two goal controller. We have a two wheel drive system using the Atwood motors geared about 20 to 1. These power a 8 inch by 1 inch wheels. We have 4 2 inch cylinders attached to a bottom friction plate. Two spring loaded main goal grabbers deploy as soon as we start moving. Our aim is to slam into the the two nearest goals, lock on with our forward grabbers and power them the shortest possible distance into scoring position based on mV=Mv. If anyone attempts to take the goals or push us, We deploy the bottom friction plate which can lift the robot and both goals off the wheels. If some one can push 500 lbs on a friction surface, or lift us and two goals, we figure they deserve to beat us. Oh, and by the way, we have one kid who consistently can score 9 out of 10 balls at 40 feet. So enjoy the clip. - Best done on ISDN or better bit rate.:) link |
