How did YOU drive your team nuts these past 6 weeks?
Thats right, resurrected from the old forum pit, comes the old question:
How did YOU drive your team nuts these 6 weeks? No fair if you pull your answer from the old thread ;) |
Easy, I did everything.
|
Probably by being myself. Someone let me know on that one. I know on 825, I drove people nuts by keeping on saying, "no, you can't do that, it's illegal" and boy did I say that a lot. On 401, hmm, maybe the weight spreadsheet.
|
Took way too many photos. We've started editing the photos taken from last Tuesday until this Monday and there are around 2,000 of them to go through for the best and most embarrassing shots. We'll upload half of them tonight, and the rest by this weekend. At least I was less annoying than Eric, he liked using the flash!

Well, I think it was the fact that i didn't show up until 9:00 pm on some nights. Maybe that was because I was working one of my 3 jobs... Or it could possibly have been the nick names I started to give people... I think the most annoying thing was that there were somethings that the students didnt understand or know about so some of the things I did were misunderstood and taken poorly by the students. well, that was vague now wasn't it? Ok now on the not so vague part it was my "what ifs" that ended up proving on of the other adults wrong quite often... hehehe that was very entertaining at midnight, for me anyway...
|
we where debating on what to cook on the motors from last year, and how we can get these "chalupa" motors to heat up enough to get them to cook something...
|
hmm, most annoying thing i did...
well, probably just being me, screaming if someone pissed me off. heh, i even had a fight with one of our mentors, because he wanted the room clean, and we had like 4 days left. he told me to go home, but when i asked who ws going to program the robot, he realized the mistake at yelling at me. :D |
easey i cut wire ties!!!!
|
hmm...probably the fact that I left 'em for Rochester for a lil whle. Either that, or me telling them that stuff was illegal.

sing "Who are you? Who? Who? Who? Who?
|
I didn't do anything annoying but one of the guys on my team whistled the theme from the Andy Griffith show six hours a day for six weeks
|
PROBABLY?
Quote:
"PROBABLY" christina? i was pretty sure that our leading mentor teacher made it very clear to you that that was precisely it! |
easy. i got my friend katy (who's also on the team) to sing her trademark robotics song "duct tape makes the world go round" over and over and over and over and..
:D |
I was right every time. And the that i sent 10 boxes of plastic recycling crap to our main advisor, and a gas mask, and a bunch of other free crap. She was so pissed.

Please post the lyrics! |
oooh! yes, yes, i second the motion to post lyrics!!
|
The only thing that I can think of that may have drove people nuts on my team is that I kept asking if certain parts were really necessary and if they were actually legal to have on the robot. Other then that I was helpful for my team.
|
i think every member on team 38 got mad at everyone else at least once, for the sole reason we have ONE phone line to talk, order parts, get in touch with adults, and of course, to get online. people stopped bothering to call...as the line was constantly busy!

goofy member of 365
Post the lyrics!!! Post the lyrics!!!
PLEEEEEEESE?:( |
I anoyed by just being right, they hated it when little girl me told them no. And the fact I was the only one allowed to work on the robot for awhile because our prof got mad at everyone else. (and that grocery stores STILL ask if they are all my brothers)
|
I drove my team crazy by being me, as Dave will confirm. I also drove some of the team crazy by refusing to tell them how I had managed to snap a 3/4" HSS mill bit in half. And I would be driveing them crazy still if my computer hadn't died, making it impossible for me to check my email and continue my reign of terror in the caption contests.
|
Haha. The weird stuff from our team mostly happens outside of the meetings. Like the "caption contest" that we have... Though I can say Graham- you have WAY to much free time. I don't go to school and I have less than you do! haha.. oh dear.
Um crazy this.. but on a whole I'm a pretty calm person... just... weird in the extreme? |

They just drove Me nuts ............!........oh wait , correct that ..It was the lack of sleep!!! I'm sure you all agree
|
in RE: lyrics posting -
she doesn't want to, but i'll try and coax her to some way. just think.. duct tape holding the world together, zip ties making the world go round, trantorques keeping the sun in place, this song making julia go mad (one of the other girls on the team). etc. no, it doesn't annoy me, but i laugh when she starts singing to annoy the others. :) |
Our team wasn't as wild as some other teams.
We drove most of the adults nuts by blaring rock music. Then some people (hehe) put something in someone's drink, the best part, they never figured it out. And we set up a bowling alley from soda bottles. The bowling ball was supposed to be an orange, but we decided to use a soccer ball. It was fun.:D |
Most of my team will probably tell you I'm annoying. They get unhappy because I will whistle the theme from Harry Potter over...and over...
I also was known to sing or whistle other tunes... It's kind of funny though..people that want nothing to do with Harry Potter KNOW the theme...I'm brainwashing them...slowly....hehehee |
what, no other stories? :(
|
there was always the time our mentor "accidently" snapped a steel clamp in half with his hands.....

Shoot, I'm not on the team, and I've seen part of that giant.
Flashback: 2000, All-star resorts, some of us from 401 fill water balloons and decided to go find 122....I don't remember Rick being too happy...nor the security guard he ran into with a bucket of water... |
Well I used to bake brownies, cookies, cupcakes...you name it...for me team at the beginning of the six weeks so they would have sugar to keep them going. By the end I was tired of baking so I stopped and that annoyed them a whole lot. After the six weeks they TP'ed my house really well, left a box of brownie mix and a poem telling me to start cooking again on my doorstep.
|
Rick? hahaha
Actually...suprisingly...it was not rick!! it was yet another dave!!!! Dave Fahringer to be exact. He drives a MR2...and when i was drilling those annoying holes in omni wheels, minding my own business...he says "oh wait, are you sure you put those clamps on tight enough?" reaches to tighten the poor, unsuspecting clamp, and bam!! it snaps in half and we stare at it in utter confusion....quite amusing actually.
His new nickname is Superman... |
